We have just about finished our 30 day trial and plan to continue with Therapy Notes. They have been terrific in helping up to wade through the difficult experience of transferring data and changing companies. Therapy Notes is so user friendly. And anything we have not understood has been readily answered and attended to. They have great staff persons. When we have made a suggestion, they have gone in and made some changes to suit us. Even when we ask silly questions, they help us move forward. I am looking forward to a long association with Therapy Notes and so glad I finally made the decision to make a change.

We're glad you made the decision as well! Thanks for the great feedback.

I cant believe how long I went without electronic charting for my private practice. It has made my life so much easier. I am confident that I have everything in order to stay on top of the business part of the my private practice business. I am a great therapist but not so great in business, I never imagined I would be able to easily do my own billing (set up a little hard at first, but not therapynotes fault, just the red tape that can come with insurance companies at times). I can easily access my clients information from anywhere and I trust in the security of the information. I really love it, and having a part time practice, I appreciate that the price is manageable for me. Although I am extremely happy with my experience with therapynotes (and have referred and recommended several colleagues to it), if I could make a few suggestions for down the road for therapynotes to consider: The ability to edit the templates, and to put in my own templates as well (including my intake paperwork), and to be able to print blank template notes to guide information gathering during intakes and sessions.

YES - We love suggestions. Be sure to email us specific changes that you'd like to see to our templates and we may be able to accommodate! Thanks!

Therapy notes may be useful for individual private practitioners and cash only single providers. The few practice management reports that are available are inconsistent, unreliable, and, in many cases, un-exportable. Billing features are extremely basic, secondary insurance submission has never worked, does not allow for tertiary insurance to even be entered, and does not allow for the capture of insurance adjustments. If an insurance is updated, there is no way to keep a record of previous insurance a client has had, no ability to enter start or end dates, and old/previous visits are automatically changed to new insurance. Therapynotes is lacking in even the most basic features, experiences frequent outages, and fails to provide the services it claims to offer. When you choose to leave Therapynotes, you will be told that the only way to capture/save your information to to print the screen-shots.

I'm sorry you're having a bad experience with TherapyNotes, but I take issue with your review. Most of our customers are not cash only providers. We have sent millions of dollars in claims, which do include secondary claims. It's unclear what you mean about reports being inconsistent and unreliable, or which ones are not exportable. "When you choose to leave Therapynotes, you will be told that the only way to capture/save your information to to print the screen-shots." - This is simply false. You easily download your notes as PDF files and you can export billing reports and patient lists as Excel files. You certainly do not have to do screenshots. Please contact directly to discuss your issues so we can resolve them and hopefully improve your opinion of our services and hopefully improve your disparaging review.

I could not run a successful business without Therapy Notes! I recommend it to all of the therapists I know and all have had great results. I depend on Therapy Notes to keep me organized, to help me keep up with my documentation and billing, to send out appointment reminders, as well as the newest feature of credit card processing. I highly recommend it to anyone!

I'm glad you're enjoying the credit card features and thank you for referring us to your colleagues!

I love this company. When thinking about opening my second private practice, I knew I needed a EMR that would help me stay on top of all the written requirements of the job and also help me with billing. This does both seamlessly. Therapy Notes is very responsive via phone when I have an issue and they solve my problem immediately. My only wish is that they develop a step by step written online book to help me know how to set up billing and oversee it without having to call in to ask questions. In may ways it is intuitive and in many ways it is not.

There have been so many changes in mental health in North Carolina that I thought I would have to quit but TherapyNotes has literally saved my practice. TherapyNotes has been very easy to navigate and the support staff are understanding and helpful. And best of all I am now being paid!

I've used their service for three years and really love it. It's easy to use and organizes so many aspects of the practice in one place - scheduling, record-keeping, and billing. The electronic billing is a breeze and eliminates a lot of hassles. I also supervise several clinicians and TherapyNotes makes it easy to keep track of multiple clinicians' schedules, review their notes, etc. I've found TherapyNotes to be responsive to customer service requests as well as to suggestions for improvement. I've recommended it to several colleagues and they all love it, too!
