Horrible company they charged me even though I canceled my paid account months ago for not getting any clients. They are awful and disorganized. I now had to take extra time to deal with my bank due to their lack of organization and they are completely incompetent especially the billing dept. Not to mention I never got any clients in months having a paid account.

Thank you for taking the time to write this, and we are sorry this has been your experience. Cancellation is self-service from your Account Settings, and our Refund and Cancellation Policy is published on the site. If you cancelled and a charge still went through afterwards, that is not how it should work and we want to look at it with you: please email [email protected] with the email address on your account and a human will check the cancellation record and the charge directly. On referrals, volume varies a lot by location, specialty and local competition, and we will not pretend otherwise. We read every message at [email protected] and we keep fixing things.

Signed up for a year subscription as a therapist and every “referral” sent to me is a fake profile. They never end up following through. Every single referral will establish a profile and then drop out of contact. This never happens on Psychology Today. This feels fraud. Therapy den using deception to make therapists feel they are a legit site

Hi, thank you for taking the time to flag this, and we are sorry these inquiries turned out to be fake. We want to be clear that these messages are not generated by TherapyDen. They come from outside scammers who are currently targeting therapists across every directory and listing platform, and we take them seriously: we block the senders as soon as they are reported and we keep tightening our filters. We would really like to look into your specific case and make it right. Could you email us at [email protected] so we can find your account and help you directly? Thank you for being a member, and again, we are sorry for the experience so far.

I created a provider profile. After completion, the website indicated it would not be publicly viewable without a paid subscription. I submitted payment. I signed out, and searched my listed specialties by my geographical location. My profile does not appear ANYWHERE in the search results. I contacted customer service (email is the only option). I have received no response, and my profile is still not visible. I would really love to be able to give Therapyden a positive review, but all they have done is take my money, and provided nothing in return. At least my PT subscription provides what I paid for.

Hi Doug, thank you for raising this, and we are sorry for the frustration. Our records show we replied to your first email on May 17, the day after you reached out, and we have stayed in contact since to get to the bottom of it. On the profile itself, it is complete and is in fact included in our search results. Here is the detail that explains what you saw: when you are logged into your own therapist account and you search the directory, the system does not show your own profile back to you in the results. But anyone searching while logged out, or from a different account, sees your profile normally in those same searches. So clients looking for a therapist in your area do find you, even though you cannot see yourself while you are logged in. We are glad to keep helping any time at [email protected], and we would welcome the chance to turn your experience around.

Echoing everyone else's feedback about false advertising, profile not showing up in searches despite paying the $30/month membership, and no referrals, but ADDING that I've gotten non-stop spam and possible scams since signing up. I'll get emails from google accounts asking about my practice that feel robotic and fake so I'll send referrals, then I'll get an identical robotic email from a different google address right after. Literally as though it had been copied and pasted with word-for-word matching messages. Friends and colleagues have given feedback that it sounds like a bot trying to spike therapyden numbers to make it look like clinicians are getting a lot of responses to their profiles. Also when you cancel, you don't finish out your month of membership benefits you already paid for, you immediately revert to your free profile. Cool!

Thank you for your feedback. The vast majority of our users do not experience spam issues. However, we have received email feedback indicating that some users have encountered spam and automated messages. To address this, we have recently invested in two new protection measures designed to filter unwanted messages and secure communications. We take feedback regarding profile visibility very seriously. Our traffic and keyword positions are publicly available through tools such as SEMrush, so you can see that we are among the top three leaders in the therapists niche. We continually invest in our SEO team, which is why most of our users enjoy excellent visibility and regular referrals, resulting in a strong ROI. While a few isolated technical issues may occur, we are always working to improve our system to ensure every profile is showcased according to our high quality standards. Could you please confirm whether you fully completed your profile when you were a premium subscriber? A complete profile is essential for optimal referencing. I have taken note of your feedback regarding the immediate loss of paid benefits upon cancellation and have forwarded it to our IT team for further review. Thank you again for your input. Please feel free to ask any additional questions or share further concerns.

I concur with what others are saying and would add that I signed up for a $10 membership which I see being charged to my account at $30. Absolutely NO LEADS have come through them. I suggest therapists use psychology today. I’ve gotten a few referrals from them over the years. Stay away from therapy den. I’m not finding my profile showing up where it should. RUN AWAY FAST!
Response from therapyden.comMar 11, 2025
Thank you for your feedback, and we sincerely apologize for any confusion or frustration regarding your billing and profile visibility. Our premium subscription is $30/month, not $10. Regarding leads and profile visibility, the profile have to be fully completed, as this significantly impacts search results. We continuously invest in improving our platform's visibility and referral quality through investments in our SEO team, and we're committed to addressing your concerns. Your satisfaction is very important to us. We appreciate your feedback and hope you'll consider exploring TherapyDen again in the future.

They allow therapists to list for free, but two weeks later the in-person listings are all gone, and there's a push to online therapists instead. My free profile, and the others that were listed in my area, have all disappeared.
Response from therapyden.comMar 11, 2025
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’d like to clarify how listings work on TherapyDen. We actively invest in SEO to improve the visibility of our therapists, especially those offering in-person services with premium memberships. While free profiles are indexed and can appear in Google searches, they are not featured in TherapyDen’s internal search results. This ensures our premium members receive significantly more referrals and exposure, which aligns with the added value they're paying for. We hope this clears up any confusion regarding profile visibility. If you have any further questions or need assistance, feel free to contact us directly.

This is a free listing for therapists , coaches or counselors in any field or background. They invited a known person to list and probably to get more people to signup at their site. Then they discriminated in her education in offering others to find counseling or therapy in any field then discriminated the ones who are certified vs licensed. Which they are both or separate They got advertised on a high traffic influencer and then the profile was rated five star and without notice the profile was not there this is not fair marketing law practice. Rude and Unprofessional
Response from therapyden.comMar 11, 2025
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we're sorry about any confusion or frustration you’ve experienced. To clarify our policies, TherapyDen defines a "Therapist" as a professional who is duly certified and licensed in good standing under applicable state law to provide mental or behavioral health services, such as psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors, therapists, clinical social workers, and mental health nurse practitioners. This requirement is intended to maintain high-quality standards and ensure credibility and safety for our users. However, discrimination or unfair removal is absolutely not part of our practice. If you believe a profile was unfairly removed or treated inconsistently, we would very much appreciate further details sent directly to [email protected]. This will help us promptly investigate, clarify the issue, and if it happened, ensure it does not happen again. Thank you again for sharing your concerns with us.
