have a norcold na8lx 2 months out of warrinty kept throwing a a1 dc code and shuting off. after other people advised me to change thurmister and control bord, over $200, tec at norcold guy told me to check my 12 volt charger. found it shorted out and was putting 16.5 volts into electrical system and to power control bord. the refigerator was getting too much voltage and over heating, causing it to shut down. replaced 12 volt charger in motorhome all good ty norcold guy bill white ohio

Your information was very helpful, a couple of things I think you should address. Our van is a 2001 which may have a newer version of the Norcold fridge. I struggled with two things. First with trying to disconnect the gas line on top. This is pretty much impossible until the fridge is pulled forward about 6", can't get the wrenches on the nuts unless you do. Second, our fridge has two vents, High and low I thought the lower vent was for the heater. I started pulling on the fridge before I figured that out (need to disconnect both). You were absolutely right about the screw heads on the sides hanging up when you try to pull out the fridge (Pain in the Butt!). Don't be afraid to carve out ample space for them to reinstall the fridge. I replaced the igniter also because ours was not working (Check your fuses on that first,it might not be the igniter) also if your propane is overfilled,(our's was) this can cause the igniter not to work. Your information was much appreciated, all is working well. Thanks
