We got slapped in the face with those "white gloves"
We trusted Lux Nomads LLC with a considerable amount of money because they advertised a "seamless" relocation and "white glove" service. Like others, we were willing to pay for the inflated cost because we needed an easy button for at least one part of a big life transition. Like others, we were charmed by Michelle's bubbly personality. Like others, we believed the lies and promises, and should have seen through the thin veil of BS that they constantly spout. Aside from a couple of consultations (the type that would typically be complimentary or low cost), it was apparent that there wasn't an option for us. For nearly a year, we watched Michelle pitch offer after offer, open up new countries, and no one ever talked to us about pivoting despite asking multiple times for options. Now we suspect that they didn't want to deliver; they just wanted cash grab after cash grab. The whole situation felt more and more like a scam to us. We finally asked for a refund after they closed down the contractual online community. We have written proof that we are owed a refund, but were told that other clients had been waiting MONTHS with no refunds (or contracted reimbursements). In other words, "too bad, so sad." There have been crickets since. We're out nearly $23K and feel like schmucks. If you're reading this because you paid but did not receive contractual services, you can: * file a dispute with your credit card company/bank * file a police report where the sale occurred * file a complaint with your attorney general's office * file a complaint with the AZ, FL and WY AG offices (Lux is registered in AZ, require legal filings in FL, and the parent company is Galaxie Holdings LLC in WY) * file a police report in Spain or Portugal (they'll work with Interpol) * file a report with IC3 (FBI) for internet crimes * file a report with the Federal Trade Commission via ReportFraud.ftc.gov * file a case with econsumer.gov (they work with international consumer protection bureaus) * leave an honest Trust Pilot review * do NOT sign any kind of termination agreement (you won't get that "partial refund" you're promised - just read others' experiences for that evidence) We do NOT recommend this company or any venture from Michelle Garabito or Paul Eric Nelson. Avoid them at all costs or be prepared to exchange your hard-earned cash for nothing. Run away - far and fast!
