I honestly wonder if I am wasting my time or if this is a worthwhile endeavor. I am getting interviews but not by applying to sites like this. I wonder if others are experiencing the same.

Many positions are listed, but I have had very little, in any, positive movement on any of the positions I applied for.

I pay for this service monthly. At the same time I'm posted on 17 other free job sites. The activity that I get from some of these in terms of job suggestions are just as relevant as the ones I get from theLadders, making me wonder if it's worth the money to be a part of it at all. I've been with theLadders for almost a year now, it was the first and only for six months of search, and I still don't have a job. So my advice would be for job seekers to try out the free job sites first and see what kind of activity they get, then if dissatisfied, go to theLadders. I'm in CPG and theLadders seems to be heavily weighted toward Financial, Insurance, Healthcare, Food and Beverage, so if you're in one of these industries, use it. I will say this, however, I don't get any scammers or Insurance Agent recruiters bothering me from my post on theLadders. So that's something...

I like the search engine but don't like how your profile is so narrowed down

Job title searches can be daunting. I spent some time looking on LinkedIn in the "similar to this role" for other types of titles. This, coupled with the same search recommendations that The Ladders offers has really opened up the roles for me. The Advanced Search is also helpful in maximizing the potential range that a role might provide. e.g. go higher than what you think the max role might pay, you might be surprised.

Ladders is great. They provide a wide variety of jobs and locations. They do a good job of filtering the jobs by title and responsibilities. Compared to a couple of other paid to look sites the are a bargain. The down side is the recruiters that do not respond and have forgotten how to communicate. The site gives them the opportunity to hide behind the site and not give you feedback or contact. (Some even have an attitude, like they are being troubled by you submitting a resume.)

I have recently subscribed and although there has not been a lot of activity, I feel The Ladders provides good value for the money.
