Happy HowlWhere it started:Rocky changedeverything andI never set out to start a dog food company. My husky Rocky had the worst stomach on the planet. Years of vet visits, prescription diets, and hundreds spent on premium food brands. We tried everything. Nothing worked. So I decided to build it myself. 36 recipe iterations. Countless hours with vets and nutritionists. All chasing one question: what’s the best food we could possibly make for a dog? When we finally got it right, Rocky was the proof. He hasn't been sick in over 18 months. He runs three miles with me every morning. That's the standard every Happy Howl bowl is held to. Nothing less.Colin Buckley– Founder

We are so happy to hear that you appreciate both the quality of the food and the convenience of storing it, that is truly the best of both worlds and exactly what we strive for!

Great quality food just wish it was a little bit more cost-effective.

Thank you so much for the kind words and we are so happy to hear that your pups are loving their Happy Howl! We completely understand the feedback on pricing and we hear you, we never want cost to be a barrier between your pups and the nutrition they deserve. What we can promise is that every penny goes toward sourcing the highest quality real wholesome ingredients to keep your dogs healthy and thriving and we truly believe they are worth it!

My dogs have chicken allergy and don't have to worry about any chicken products in happy howl Even if labeled beef or lamb other brands often have chicken fat or broth in them --
Response from Happy HowlMay 22, 2026
We know how stressful and worrying it can be managing food allergies in your pups and we completely understand the frustration of finding hidden chicken ingredients in other brands even when it is not the main protein, that is so common and so problematic for dogs with sensitivities! We are so proud to offer complete transparency in every single one of our ingredients so that pet parents like you can feed with total confidence and peace of mind knowing exactly what is and is not in your dogs bowl!

Happy Howl, your customer service is the best - many top tier companies (even other pet food subscription services) don’t have human responses. It seems to me there is this unnecessary layer of bureaucracy or show craft when companies become successful. I had an issue of my own making and your people were attentive and came up with a solution and guided me through my next order and resetting the subscription service and changing email address…etc etc. They were actually folksy and considerate. I wish you were in just the customer service business because you folks could teach them all something pretty darned rare. This may be the age of AI, but sometimes it’s important to answer your phone and take your customer’s phone call. And you did! Oh, and my dog Scout is a huge huge fan of your food.

Wow, thank you so much for this absolutely incredible review, we are truly speechless and so deeply grateful for your kind and thoughtful words! You have touched on something that is at the very core of who we are at Happy Howl, real people, real conversations and real solutions. In a world that is increasingly moving toward automation and AI we firmly believe that there is no substitute for a genuine human connection and we are so glad that came through for you! Scout has absolutely wonderful taste and we could not be more honored to be his food of choice! Give that good boy a big hug from all of us!

My dog is really enjoying the food and I prefer that the food doesn’t have to go directly to the freezer.
