I never got to try their dog food. I couldn’t get past the $200 a day they were charging me me riddle my credit card. I lost all faith in them right there returned all their products never opened it.

Well I gave them a 1 because I wanted…
Well I gave them a 1 because I wanted to order, but the line of questions leading up to the purchase is crazy, I wanted to know the cost simple as that, but they make you answer a bunch of unrelated questions. My mom tried it and gave up after they started asking her to purchase other items, still nothing about the dog food, me I gave up after question 4 , I know they are using AI and AI has made companies very successful, I just wanted to know a few simple things before I went on the ai journey. Shame because I think it would’ve been great for my dog, but I basically already make the same exact thing, I guess I was just trying to free up my schedule a little 😂

Hi Karen, thank you so much for sharing your feedback with us. We value your time, and we aim to make the sign-up process quick and straightforward. That said, we are so sorry that we fell short of expectations, and we’d love the opportunity for another chance.
Determining your meal plan, recommended recipes, and daily price usually takes about three minutes per dog. Every dog is unique, and your exact plan and price options will depend on your dog(s) and their food needs, factoring in age, weight, activity level, and more. Plans start at about $2/day, and delivery options mostly range from 1 week to 2 months of food and include free shipping.
If you’d like to know more, we're here 24/7 at (646) 780-7957. We promise you’ll speak with a human, and you may even hear a few of our pups in the background! We're always here to help!

Horrible quality now
Used to be really good with lots of vegetables that you can see now there’s absolutely no veggies and it’s just meat. Very sad to see a company spends so much money on Marketing and drop the quality of their food almost hundred percent.

Thank you so much for sharing your feedback, Tonya. We can see how much you care about nutrition, and we do too! Your pup's well-being is our top priority, and we’re committed to never compromising on quality. Because we use only whole, fresh ingredients and prepare our meals in small batches, it’s completely normal to see slight variations in ingredient size or quantity. That said, the formulation of our recipe has not changed.
If you ever notice a recipe that looks different or doesn’t meet your expectations, we always want to hear about it. Our team is here for you 24/7. Dog Poison!
This product has given my beloved service dog a heart murmur and it was already a grade 2 by the time we realized what I had done. I had been feeding him the farmer's dog thinking I was doing a good thing when a perfectly healthy chihuahua developed a heart murmur. When the vet asked me if I had done anything different I told her that I had started feeding him the farmer's dog. She almost freaked out and told me to get him off of this food immediately. This was one year ago in August 2022.
I took Ginder to the vet for his annual visit yesterday and the vet said that his heart murmur has gone from a grade 2/3 to a grade 4 only since March 2023. I know to some people he is probably just a dog but he is more than that to me and I have been beside myself.
He will have a consultation with a canine cardiologist in October to see what can be done to either stabilize or correct the heart murmur. Because the murmur is causing his heart to become enlarged.
He developed a heart murmur because I thought I was doing a good thing and was purchasing the Farmers Dog subscription service a while back. My vet told me that dogs need to have grains in their diet because some dogs will develop heart murmurs if they are on a grain-free diet.
So not only does my dog have a grade 4 heart murmur and an enlarged heart but I'm the one that gave it to him! The good thing is as of right now his lungs are clear and everything else is healthy.
He was only on the farmer's dog for about 6 months to a year if that and the food has ruined our lives so beware and make sure that you consult with your veterinarian before changing your dog's diet.

Hi Robert, we're so sorry to hear about Ginder's heart murmur. We understand how difficult and scary this diagnosis can be, and we hope that Ginder has been on the mend over the past two years.
Our founders began their journey when they couldn't find a brand they could truly trust, so we are very passionate about creating a healthy product dog owners can rely on. The health, safety, and well-being of the dogs we feed are always our top priority, which is why we closely follow all research related to heart health.
We’d appreciate the opportunity to have a member of our veterinary team connect with your veterinarian to answer any questions and provide more information about our fresh recipes and their nutritional components. One of our specialists has reached out directly to assist you in any way we can.

I got my first box, thawed out a bag, fed it to my dog once. At that point I had 3 days to edit my next order. I went ahead and moved the date of my 2nd box back, since we had just started transitioning and I have well more than 2 weeks of food on hand right now. In so doing, I see the daily cost for that 2nd box is $5.07, which is almost a dollar per day more than the plan price of $4.12 per day. I go to customer service, who sends me a two paragraph "clarification" that basically tells me they decided to send me a 20 day supply of food and it's discounted to match my bulk pricing. Well...no. It's almost a dollar a day more than my bulk pricing, which is why I reached out. When I press them on this, I get told a 2nd time that it's discounted to match my bulk pricing. They charged more per day because they decided to send me 20 days instead of 56, and then they pretended to discount it to the correct daily rate and then lied about it directly to my face, expecting me to believe what they were saying instead of what my eyes saw. The math wasn't even correct. What they were actually charging me for the 20 day supply was $4.46 per day, which was never a price that was offered or advertised. I got no explanation for any of this. Instead of correctly pricing the 2nd box they were charging me extra per day for, the solution was to skip over that box and go directly to the 56 day supply order.
The whole thing makes zero sense to me and there was no kind of responsibility or ownership over the actual issue. Just that they got caught by someone who didn't accept their scripted response. Pay attention to your bills from them, ask questions, and don't let them gaslight you.
Edited after I saw their reply: I'm really I shocked that they tripled down on their claim they had my in between box priced correctly. So glad I canceled this nonsense.

Thank you so much for providing this valuable feedback, Haley. We're so sorry for any confusion regarding the pricing of your orders. Transparency is important to us, so we truly appreciate you reaching out to let us answer any questions or concerns you had.
Between your trial box and your regular, full-sized orders, we send a smaller second box as an "in-between box." This ensures your pup has plenty of time to adjust to our fresh food and allows you to make any desired changes before your regular orders start arriving. These smaller boxes are discounted to match the bulk price of recurring orders, and total daily costs may vary due to the local tax rate in your area.
That said, one of our specialists would be happy to chat further to ensure that you and your dog are all set, so please feel free to reach back out to us at [email protected]. We're always here to help!

My sister had been using The Farmers…
My sister had been using The Farmers Dog since December for her GSP’s named Ozzy and Daisy..the past 4 months Ozzy has been running out of food early, and when they caught the fact that they were sending the WRONG amount of dog food, they offered to send the correct amount for a charge! I have pictures of my sister attempting to contact them and they hardly answer and when they do, it doesn’t help! Screw this place, they’ve gotten over on my sister and her two dogs! She deserves a refund for every month she was paying for the wrong amount of food. I have pictures and will be writing my review on google along with pictures! You don’t deserve one star.

Dishonest company.
We used a "trial" of Farmers Dog. Trial to us means to pay to try it out "and then" sign up if you want more. Our dog had to be hand feed this food and so we decided to not use it. Then we got an email saying we had an order coming to our home as part of a "subscription" we had "signed up" for. We signed up for a trial, never an ongoing subscription.
It took a lot of work via Google to get a phone number to reach them. The person answering told me they "only" had subscriptions for their product. They then noted there was "fine print" that we could cancel to avoid auto orders. This made it our fault! We had only gotten through less than half the trial order before knowing our dog would not eat the food. How could anyone decide in this short period of time?
We live in a world of unethical business behavior. If Farmer Dog was a ethical business it would make clear in large print and with warnings that signing up for a trial was what the average person knows a trial to be. They would also have an 800 numbers readily available in their website. Instead, they play a slight of hand to get people to sign up not realizing they are really signing up for an ongoing subscription. This dishonesty is infuriating!!!
Trying to buy even on Amazon often means being overly careful to buy "only" the item one time - not stuck in a monthly order scam. And trying to undo it takes a lot of work.
Farmers Dog did provide a full refund even though the order had been sent out. I was furious with the person answering as they calming claimed Farmers Dog is "only" a subscription company. Somehow this made ME the problem!!! Ghezz.
To think this is an honest way of doing business is a lie and a lack of character as seen in so many businesses. And the hassles inflicted on honest everyday people makes for a bad reputation. Or it should.
Will this review be seen by the CEO? I doubt it nor will anything change as a result.
If people will read this complaint is unclear. Sadly, more and more people are willing to accept these kinds of trickier. I lam less likely to buy anything online these days as I find issues like these so common.
