Nikko's Story
When we got Nikko at 10 weeks old, he had been in a 'big dog' rescue. It was a horrible place where they fed the dogs all at the same time once a day. Little Nikko had to fight the big dogs to get any food. Needless to say, he had food issues. It took several years for him to trust that his food was not going to be taken away. The result was Nikko gained more weight than he should have. We tried lots of weight-loss dog foods which did not work. We switched to Farmer's Dog on the recommendation of our (new) vet. It took a while but Nikko began losing weight. He was healthy and active, taking long walks with his dad. Nikko passed away last month; he was 14. Despite the blindness, deafness, hip dysplasia, and arthritis, he was a happy boy. I think we got a couple of extra years due to his Farmer's Dog diet. When we informed Casey (at Farmer's Dog) that Nikko had passed, they sent us a card with their condolences. A week later, Farmer's Dog sent us a plant to remember him by. This is not so much a review of Farmer's Dog food, but a statement of what an amazing company Farmer's Dog is. They not only care enough to make an excellent dog food, they care about their customers, the dogs. And obviously, they care about the dog's owners. A great company with great employees. Do your dog a favor and switch to Farmer's Dog. You both will be better for it.

Thank you so much for sharing Nikko's story, Craig. It sounds like you gave this sweet pup the best life possible and we're so honored that we got to be a part of it. Everything we do, we do for dogs just like Nikko. We've been thinking of you and your family - please know our door is always open if you need anything in the future.
