Our 4 year old Dachshund is so picky. Never did eat typical commercial food so we homemade her food for her first 3 1/2 years until it got to be a drag. She has been on FD for several months now and while it doesn’t seem she loves it, she eats it fine. Her poops are the best in the neighborhood. 😂. She likes the beef and turkey. She doesn’t like the pork. I think bc it has the least amount of firmness….it’s gooey! So we just don’t order that one any longer.

Picky eaters can be so tough, but we're glad she's eating our turkey and beef recipes without a problem! Farmers Dog first order
Our dog has never had an appetite like this since bringing her home at 3 months, she is now two years old. She loves the chicken and beef.
It was push and pull with The Farmers Dog at first. They only ship on Thursdays and with all the snow here UPS sometimes is unable to get to our home so the food sits in their warehouse over the weekend.
The introductory box of food arrived and then the boxes start coming and your credit card starts getting charged, like I said push and pull with them. They have telephone and text messaging and respond to your issues.
Their only issue is once you start your first order the boxes start coming and at $150 a box it gets expensive, so I asked them to stop and it took awhile. It should be Order as Needed.
I started ordering dog food after they were featured on Fox News and Dana Highly recommended them.
Our Siberian Husky loves the food, our Vet recommends the food and we’re happy for now.
Please change your ordering policy to AS NEEDED, WHEN NEEDED.

For this reason, we do send a reminder email that includes the cutoff date to make any needed adjustments, as well as state that The Farmer's Dog is a recurring subscription service on the last page of checkout.
Additionally, while we insulate all deliveries well enough for food to travel to its destination and still be safe to eat, occasionally, delays out of our control can occur. If this arises, our team is always more than happy to help any of our customers (and their dogs!) with any orders that arrive below expectations.
Lastly, we release the funds immediately when issuing a refund, but depending on your bank, it can take 5-10 business days. We recommend you check in with them for more specifics regarding their processing time. If there's anything else we can do to help, please contact [email protected].

I’m confused so sorry it’s not really a review but might help others. Are you the same company as thefarmersdog.uk? Sorry it’s confusing. I’m in the U.K. and you both have price in pounds but not sure if the reviews I’m looking at are for the same company.

Getting Better
Really disappointing!
Their product is really good with the exception of the packaging.
Just a lot of run around by their sales dept. couldn’t go to a monthly delivery. Insistent on a delivery every 2 weeks! Ugh…dealt with different reps who all quoted different prices.
I don’t get it.
The Company reached out to me, which tells me that they care.
They also sent a e mail explaining the program, and it was really helpful. They have a great product, our dog loves the food.

I've fed my 14yr old silky terrier purina vet pro plan om to manage his weight. It worked but when I added farmers dog he became much more eager to eat

Great service, but we took a different route
Honestly, the service provided by Farmer's Dog is fantastic. We have two older pups and they did quite well on the meals that we ordered and the subscription service was very convenient. We ended up canceling for 2 main reasons - price and inclusion of plant based ingredients in the recipes. The costs to fully feed our two ~50# pups each month was a bit more than we could justify. In the end, we worked up our own recipe at home that does not include any plant based ingredients. We do not believe dogs need to eat any plant products. The cost per meal at home is much more manageable and the fur babies do not have as much unnecessary plant material passing through in their waste.

Rest assured, our recipes are formulated by board-certified veterinary nutritionists to be complete and balanced for dogs according to AAFCO standards and we have an ACVN on staff. Our fresh recipes are mostly meat with a moderate amount of fresh produce that provides specific nutritional properties. Dogs are omnivores and can successfully digest plant matter. That said, at the end of the day our goal is to see more dogs eating real food so if you’ve found something fresh and nutritionally balanced that works for you, we’re happy to hear it ❤️ Tell your dogs we say hello!
