The food is great. My dogs love it. Why the one star review? Because the company will not allow me to purchase the right amount of food. They want control my dogs feeding schedule and apparently my schedule doesn’t fit their model. I wanted to buy 13 packets instead of 11 and - would you believe they won’t sell it to me. I can only buy less food than I’m already receiving (too little) or way more (too much)! The latter would cost almost $200/month. I’m going to find another brand. What a terrible business model.

I received an email about this so I checked into it. What’s very surprising is that I have a 60lb golden and 20lb pug and the cost is over $100 per week! That is what’s wrong w our country! Greed and ridiculousness! My entire family and I do not eat $100 of food a week NO THANK YOU!

I will start out by saying our dog absolutely loved the Farmer’s Dog food and he has not been excited about his food since we brought him home, so that makes our experience even more upsetting. Three out of 5 of our total orders from Farmer’s Dog have not arrived, or have been late to arrive- leaving us scrambling to find something to feed our dog for days at a time while we wait and refresh our tracking on the food. We have been in contact with several representatives (who have been very nice) but have not had much help with this. Our last time we were actually encouraged to buy more and assured that would show up and hold our dog over and that did not even show up. We have been cooking our dog food for about a week now waiting. For something of this price, there should be higher concern and priority with timing and shipping. We are very dissatisfied.

Twice now they haven't delivered my dog food despite saying they have. This Axlehire group they are using is crap. I'm done with this. I will make my own food and will cancel my subscription with them. Hold time with customer service is over half hour and emails give an auto reply that they're too busy to reply now. Update: I received a phone call followed up by an email and The Farmer's Dog made right the wrong. I really appreciate that.

While my dogs do like most of the food (my dog Thor has stopped eating the beef recipe), The Farmer’s Dog’s service has been abysmal to say the least. First order of food arrived warm. I get that that is outside of TFD’s control to an extent. The replacement box we got had less food and my dogs ran out rather quickly. When I reached out, they gave me a recipe for me to cook for my dogs and while I’ll gladly do that, I don’t think it’s fair that I’m paying $140 every two weeks to have to cook for my pups. That’s what I’m paying TFD for. I’m supposed to receive a shipment of food between today (Sept. 30th) and Oct. 2nd and the food hasn’t even left their facility. It’s looking like I’m done with The Farmer’s Dog. I’ll probably get one more box to transition my dogs back to their old food. Update: They offered to send an extra box free of charge and I agreed. Then when I didn’t receive the original order and tweeted at TFD, Annabeth reached out. She was quick to cancel my subscription (which I appreciated) but then the level of pettiness from this individual was extraordinary. She went out of her way to “pull some strings” to cancel the extra order of food that they were going to send. It’s not that they aren’t going to send the food that’s the problem, it’s the fact that they have the flexibility to cancel and modify orders after they’re being prepared all the while telling customers that there’s no flexibility. Had you all “pulled some strings” and expedited my dogs’ food we wouldn’t be having issues. Additionally, the extra box they were going to send, I was going to donate to a local dog rescue for some of those beautiful fur babies to enjoy but not anymore because of The Farmer’s Dog’s horrendous business model and the pettiness of their customer service reps like Annabeth. Stay away from this company. You pay premium prices only to receive disappointment and recipes so that YOU can cook for your dogs. Not worth $140 every two weeks to me.

Farmers Dog hides negative reviews... it was impossible to find them on their website, even when logged in. You can't leave them through google. After my experience I don't find this coincidental. This place reels you in with 50% off your first order and then automatically sets you up to ship frequently. Bottom line it's a money hungry company, with very poor customer service, and mediocre dog food. My dog liked the food OK, but he has shown greater interest in others food (similarly produced from a local farm) with much greater enthusiasm. They keep changing the cadence of the shipping so at first I was a fan but it was incredibly expensive and would stress me out b/c the amount would tick up and the cost was exorbinant. The final straw was when they sent the food while we were on vacation. When I realized I tried my best to stop the $125 (it was only two weeks since my previous shipment) and couldn't get in touch with anyone. The food sat in our driveway while we were away for two weeks. When we returned the food smell was gag inducing. The packages had also interestingly inflated in the summer heat, when not freeze dried and flat packed and in a soup like state you realize one pack is actually only equivalent to 1/2 a cup of soupy grossness. So to recap, service, greed, and product are not worth it. This is a marketing company that sells mediocre food.

Tried this food for my maltipoo and it created excessive diarrhea and some vomiting. I reached out to Farmers Dog and they basically accused me of not following instructions, which I did to a T. Instead of helping and cancelling my account, they sent a full order, $220 knowing it made my dog sick! My friend tried this food for her labradoodle with the same results. Save your time, money and health of your dog and get dog food elsewhere.

My dog will simply not eat it. I was advised to buy anchovy oil. If I am spending $171 a month, why on earth would I go spend more money? I had really high hopes, but it just didn’t work for us. Edited to add as of 9/3/21…not w word from them about shipping food back or credit
