I’ve gone through all forms of executive coaching across my career. Job search programs, resume writing workshops, you name it. Well, at least I thought I had until I signed up for the Molly Wendell’s Executive Job Search program. This time around, it’s been a world of difference. What I felt was missing in all these other types of programs was the lack pf practical advice, real how-tos and doable best practices that I could follow and see actual results. Molly has exactly that in her library of techniques. But she goes further than others, where she works with you directly, gets right to the point of what you’re missing, and comes to know you and meets you where you’re at. She gives personal direct feedback on how close or far from the mark you are and works with you, so you finally get it. She doesn’t do the work for you, oh no, do not expect that! She reminds you this is your journey and like any great coach, lets you make the mistakes and helps you learn from them and continue to make progress. The real practical techniques include the Smart Questions (no, not the SMART goals we’ve been taught over the years). I won’t give the secrets here, but once you get it, it’s brilliant. She works with you on Networking Approaches, the Interview process, and how to set-and-forget LinkedIn. But the foundation of it all is your personal Positioning Statement. You dig deep to discover your North Star, so you stay on track and in control of your job search and land where you’re needed most, and where you want to be. While you may be in between gigs and looking for a guide to getting started and land at your next best role, do what I did and sign up even if you’re employed. Just because you have a job today, like me, doesn’t mean it’s where you want and need to be. Molly’s course has helped me tremendously in my search which includes opportunities within and outside my current company. It works because it’s in the end, it’s about how you know to find a better situation, not the situation you’re in. Take control and Molly is the best coach to help you understand how to do that, with hard work and “tough” love!
