I have contacted them multiple times about an incorrect tax they have that is not calculating the correct tax at our store. They don’t seem to care or listen and just keep saying I’m wrong. I even sent links and documents to show it’s a different rate. Whatever!

This is a fine service as long as everything goes well. If you have any technical errors, the support is horrible though. We still are waiting for information over 3 months after reporting an issue. Have gotten 0 follow up. Update: I got a reply email from a VP after leaving review. I outlined the issues and breakdowns in communicates in great detail. Never heard back from him - kind of par for the course from Tax Cloud.

I suddenly, without explanation, received a $100 invoice. I wrote twice requesting clarification. No response. Update: 10 minutes after I posted this review, TaxCloud responded. Zero response to two emails, but a response in 10 minutes to a negative review. If I could, I would reduce to zero stars. Update 2020/9/4: It was closer to a week with no response from you. You call that "expecting an immediate response"!!! And then you try to shame me for being a small business. Yesterday I received an email saying I requested closure of my account. I did not. I imagine you closed it. And then directly lied to me. I can only suggest all readers of this review treat TaxCloud very warily.

Unapproved charges to a test account, spam emails

Can never get anyone on the phone. The developer never calls back and TaxCloud broke our site for like 6 months. Not a fast enough turn around for a tax collection service. Should be better.

I would constantly get charged a fee even though I chose their free plan "Automated Compliance", I called support & they said they would fix it, they didn't. Never received a refund & every month TaxCloud attempts to take more money from me.

Hidden fee's are what I am upset about. Your site claims that if we do all member states it is free. But that is not true, due to things beyond are control we a hit every month for duplicate API calls or so you claim, but refuse to provide any logs that show these claimed duplicate calls. The information you tell me to reference on the site only shows the number of duplicate calls you claim were made. Again not helpful in fixing the problem if it really does exist, I am just supposed to take you word for it. Yeah I know the fee's are hidden in your user agreement. But no where to be found in your advertising. Update in response to TaxCloud. If a customer adds or deletes an item from their cart, it is not a duplicate call. The value of the order has changed and the sales tax will change as well. So not a duplicate as the order information has changed. With this answer it is obvious your service is never free as claimed. How is it it unnecessary if the customer makes a change to their order at checkout. So what we should hide the amount of sales tax until after they complete the order. Seriously? This is 2020 customer rightfully demand transparency hiding a charge like sales tax till the very end is a ridiculous business practice, it should update in real time. But then again I am talking to a company that likes to hide charges from it's customers. To anyone reading this, this is the type of runaround you get when you talk to support. They are actually being friendly in there responses here.
