Love Dr Holmes but when your system…
Love Dr Holmes but when your system glitches and schedules incorrectly with a different provider that i dont see and I get billed a 50.00 cancelation fee because I canceled the appointment that was scheduled with a different doc and I talked tot the doc they advised they wouldn't have charged due to system error. Tava platform is horrible when it comes to this

Billing Error
my question was not only not answered. It was essentially ignored. One email was sent with a dismissive statement and the ticket was closed unilaterally.
UPDATE: after initially posting a negative review Tava reached out to me. They explained the origin of the air, admitted fault for it, and fixed it financially in less than 48 hours. You can’t really ask for anything more than that. It was certainly frustrating that they made such an error in the first place, but they owned it and fixed it.
That aside I’ve never had any issue with my provider, in fact, I think she’s great. The platform is also user-friendly and very convenient. I’m a healthcare provider myself and I’ve actually referred several patients to their platform.

Tava Health charged me $50 for a booking I cancelled in the same sitting, after their clinician re-solicited me and then dropped me the moment she heard what I needed.
Tava Health charged me $50 for a booking I cancelled in the same sitting, after their clinician re-solicited me and then dropped me the moment she heard what I needed. Getting it back took a state complaint and a phone number that isn't listed under their name.
I found a clinician on Tava's platform and scheduled an appointment. Then I kept reading, realized she was not the right fit for what I needed, and cancelled. All of it in one session, minutes apart, without leaving the site.
Then on 9/24 she messaged me through the platform, twice, saying she would like to help me. She reached out after I had already cancelled.
So I responded with a detailed explanation of my clinical needs.
Her very next message said her schedule was full.
Not a gradual reconsideration. Not a referral. She sought me out, I told her what my presentation actually involved, and in the immediately following message she was unavailable.
At 12:03 AM on 9/26, Tava charged my card $50 for the cancellation.
Read the whole sequence. I corrected my own booking within minutes. Their clinician then approached me unprompted, asked to work with me, and became full the instant she learned what the case required. Tava billed me a penalty anyway. Nobody reviewed that charge. An automated rule fired, because that is what it is built to do.
Then I found out what it takes to reach a human at Tava. Between 4:59 and 5:08 AM I opened four separate support tickets. Every one returned the identical automated reply: offices closed, expect a response within two business days. I sent a written demand for reversal at 5:40 AM. One of Tava's own published support addresses bounced back as undeliverable, meaning the company cannot receive mail at an address it advertises. Their ticketing system auto-replied a minute later, and that was the entirety of their engagement.
Two business days to answer a charge that took them zero seconds to place.
So I escalated. I copied HHS Office for Civil Rights and two Florida Department of Health addresses on the demand, and filed a complaint with the Florida Department of Health, which issued case number 202683802 that same morning.
Then I went looking for a phone number. Tava does not publish one. I spent thirty minutes researching before I found a working line, and the number that finally reached them is listed under a different company name entirely. At 8:58 AM on 9/28 I called it. Nine minutes and ten seconds later a representative told me she would credit the $50 as a one-time courtesy. The refund email landed at 9:06 AM.
Nine minutes. That is how long the actual fix took, once a human being was on the line. Everything before it, the four tickets, the dead address, the two-day queue, the regulatory filing, existed solely because Tava makes that nine minutes impossible to reach.
And they called it a courtesy. Not a correction. Not an acknowledgment that the charge should never have been placed. A favor, extended once, as though the error were mine.
Be clear about what this means. Tava did not fix this because their process worked. It got fixed because I filed a state regulatory complaint, copied three agencies, and hunted down an unlisted phone line. That is what a patient has to do to reverse a $50 charge the platform should never have made.
Most people will not do that. Most people will eat the $50. The model assumes it.
If you are considering Tava: clinicians can solicit you and withdraw the moment your needs are specific, the billing is automated and unsupervised, there is no published phone number, support is a ticket queue behind a closed office, and the only thing that moved them was a regulator.
