DO NOT TRUST TABLET

DO NOT TRUST TABLET. I was a Tablet Plus Member almost since it started. Now that it's been bought by I believe, Trip Advisor, it's become a sham. I've now stayed in four "Tablet" hotels within the past year, from Copenhagen to Greece to Jenner, CA and was shocked at the discrepancy of the reviews versus the reality. Obviously NO ONE visits the hotels to verify they're up to any standard, and Tablet just keeps adding hotels to share the profit. I will never trust Tablet again.

Hello Adrienne. We want to assure you we are still as fiercely independent as we were the day we started, 18 years ago. Tablet is neither owned, operated, nor managed by Trip Advisor or any other travel site. We are very sorry that you’ve been disappointed with your recent Tablet Hotel selections. In regards to your most recent experience in California, please be assured that your feedback was included in the property's Tablet Meter score, and, your feedback has been published for others to review when considering the hotel. You will see that other guests gave the property very high ratings before and after your stay in November. We understand two individuals may have opposite experiences at the same hotel during the same time. Guests may also have vastly different standards. With this in mind, the Tablet Meter is a running average of the ratings given to a hotel by registered Tablet users who have actually stayed at the hotel and ratings change in real-time when feedback is submitted. If a hotel falls below 15, it will be removed immediately from our selection. Last but not least, we have a thorough vetting process for every hotel on Tablet and after they are accepted we use Tablet customer reviews (among other things) to ensure those standards are maintained. We add and remove hotels from Tablet every week based on recommendations and feedback. I hope you will one day reconsider using Tablet for your future travels.
