Everything it's ok, just I'm a bit disappointed with the quality of the case and the keyboard. I expected them to be of better quality considering the price I paid.

I've bought an Oryx Pro in 2021. I mainly did so because I wanted a repairable system that would last long. When it arrived the top of the screen was already loose. Clearly the laptop was simply rebranded since there was still some glue residue of the old logo. But whatever - it was repairable, so I could live with that. Now, five years later, one of the fans was starting to rattle. I looked into the repair PDF I had stored and it described how to replace the fans, and that I could order them directly from support. That just felt good. However after contacting support I realized I had made a mistake in doing business with System76, because they said that this part is not available any longer, and since they wouldn't give me any part specs or model number they implied that there would be no aftermarket for it either. I asked. That means that any device you buy from System76 won't be repairable any longer after just 5 years. It's just a scam if you ask me and there's better products on the market if you don't mind the planned obsolescence. Edit: Added two points for giving me a proper part number for aftermarket.

Good machines and customer service I bought a few laptops for engineers working on Android OS development. The build quality and performance on those was not very good. I had to switch them over to System76 Mira desktops which *have* been great. Also, while the customer service is somewhat slow, they did help me exchange these out at no charge. Overall happy, given that this is one of the few options out there for such desktops.

Pop not quite ready for prime time. The hardware is as promised and is working almost flawlessly (I did have the thunderbolt ports fail and I had to unplug the power, hold down the power button for 60 seconds to reset them). Pop_OS is still rough around the edges and the new version should not be billed as a beginner distro for people fresh from Windows. There are too many things still missing from Cosmic... an easy firewall manager ("Firewall Configuration" can be downloaded from the Cosmic Store but doesn't run), a way to turn off the window tiling when you move close to the edge of the screen, a way to turn off the password requirement for resuming when the screen saver turns on (and the terminal command results in turning off the screen saver all together), etc. None of these are deal breakers, but are just a lot of frustrations especially to those new to linux.

This one-of-a-kind arm64 server, ordered on 05/20/2026, and received the day before yesterday, works out of the box for the most part. It was easy to get the server connected to the LAN for remote administration. The System76 team also included a VGA-to-HDMI adapter for troubleshooting purposes, in case known issues with the NVIDIA graphics driver arise on arm64. Other minor issues might still be encountered, such as the custom hardware add-ons (e.g., WiFi and Bluetooth, extra SSD) not being detected by the software out of the box. Overall, I am satisfied with this server so far, despite the glitches.

The computer shipped without Wifi and without the Camera. When will those arrive? The computer works flawlessly. I would buy the same computer again from System76. I worried about Copy Fail bug but it turns out from the Canonical release I saw today that 26.04 LTS was never vulnerable even when it first shipped. This is my first plunge into Linnux. Consider me a newbie!

I just love the little guys beating up the big guys that are pulling the hood's over peoples eyes. I've been a developer in the Windows world since 2000. Started in the Novel Networking era but switched to the M$oft world cuz that's where the money's at. Always dabbled in the linux world compiling the OS for hours in the old days and using all kinds of open software like Apache, MySql, Perl, Php,etc. I recently just got tired of being spied on and being nothing but a data point. So I took the leap a couple months ago with a System76 WS with Pop Os! and Cosmic. I trade options so had some issues getting the software working that I needed but AI helped me with all of it. Gotta love/hate AI. If people figure out how much M$oft and others are tracking and categorizing them, maybe they will make the switch. It's really not a big deal and companies like System76 make it as easy as is possible. Love my new laptop.... :-)

All excellent, one oversight on my part was to select the pop os vs Ubuntu. Not a fan of the pop os, oversight on my part. I should have researched on pop os delta from Ubuntu. I'm more comfortable with Ubuntu.
