so I bought this Lemur pro with extra ram. About 18 months after purchase, it was running slowly. Turns out the second ram was not recognized. Cost $800 and 3 weeks.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We're sorry to hear about your technical support issue. Our extended warranty covers this type of repair after 1 year, but the basic warranty is 1 year and this fell outside that time period.

Speaker Audio DOA out of the box
Speaker Audio DOA out of the box, working with support to resolve.
Update: Issue could not be fixed, returned product. No replacements available. System76 issued a partial refund, charging me for various shipping fees related to the defective product! I asked for a full refund and never heard back. Not a great experience.

Wasn't built to the order specs
Wasn't built to the order specs. This is the second time it has happened to me. On a third build, the cable wasn't connected to the extra SSD drive so it wasn't found at boot time.

my overrall experience.
The laptop I purchased in its current condition works perfectly fine, my issue is with the device overrall, in my opinion it had temperature issues from day one that ultimately led to issues with the laptops audio, which I sent back to system76 to be evaluated and fixed, but it was returned to me in the same condition I sent it out in. And after a few months of trying to diagnose and fix the laptop I discovered that the laptops heating solution was deffective and or not making correct contact with the cpu die causing the laptop to freeze a lot and also sound like a jet engine. After contacting support I was sent a new heasink and fan assembly and the laptop has worked fine ever since aside from the audio issues that are still present, but nothing more then a annoyance.
Overrall if I could go back in time I would possibly buy from a different manufacturer, which is a bit disappointing because I'm a very large fan of system76.

The invoice was compiled as a private…
The invoice was compiled as a private sell and not as a company sell, whithout indicate the VAT, this had created a lot of problem with the import procedure.
From the order to the shipping passed to much days (more than a week).

A lot of issues with the machine already
I received my machine (Pangolin on Ubuntu 24.04) and was surprised to see a lot of issues.
First, my user was set to nologin on etc/passwd so I couldn't access the terminal, I needed to work some magic via gnome terminal (exec command /bin/sh, then sudo su since sudo -s doesn't work with nologin).
I then needed to force shutdown the computer as the new nvidia drivers were being upgraded since it completely froze.
I then had to fix the grub bootloader script to allow me to run in safemode to install those drivers and now I finally have most things working.
My last issue is the fan noise. On an empty install of ubuntu 24.04, fan speeds can get high randomly, and temperatures are normal (lm-sensors). I've played with the keyboard shortcut to turn the fan up in speed or down in speed, but even when set down, and in balanced power mode, the fan will kick on a lot, I'm thinking this is driver issue or lm-sensors is wrong, although the laptop never feels hot.
Hope my feedback here helps improve Ubuntu support. Now with most issues settled, it's running decently sized llms pretty quickly, so no complaints on that end.

Bluetooth didn't work
Bluetooth didn't work. After back and forth with support it was determined to be an issue with the configuration. Still waiting on a fix.

Laptop full of problems
The laptop monitor had rendering artifacts and the keys had bad repeating issues (order-of-magnitude one key-repeat per thousand keystrokes on some keys, which translates into a hardware-induced typo every couple minutes at high typing speeds). They gave me a refund, at least, but not a full refund, because they weren't willing to refund the "expedited construction" of the laptop that I paid for, which seems like bad incentives to me (Was I paying them extra to make mistakes in the construction? If you send someone a faulty product it seems they should be recouped for all the costs of the product.) If my laptop had two hardware issues that could be detected immediately, I imagine most laptops have at least one.
