There are good internet providers, there are bad ones and then there’s Suddenlink. They are truly in the league of their own. We have moved to a new home October last year. It’s a new construction and is out of the Suddenlink coverage. When I called them to disconnect the service at our old place, they asked if I wanted to transfer it to a new one. I agreed and submitted a request for cost-to-build (basically paying to get connected to a nearby Suddenlink fiber line that runs in neighboring community close to our home. A couple of months passed. Every time I called, they would transfer to a different department, yet nobody seemed to know if or when I would have my estimate. I spoke with customer care, residential sales, engineering dept, etc. Nothing. In February upon one of my follow-ups I was advised to try to run through business department. I have a home-based business, so I said sure, that’s fine, I just want the service. A guy from business department (Stephen), called and spend thirty minutes telling me how great he was at his job and how many happy customers they had. He seemed unfazed when I repeatedly told him that I was out of coverage and needed my own line built in order to get connected. No worries, he said, we’ll get the tech out asap and get you going. A technician came out a few days later, looked around and said “You don’t have the line, do you? Why would they send me here?” The best part came a few weeks later. Still hoping to receive a follow-up/cost-to-build estimate, I got a piece of mail from Suddenlink. It contained a two-month bill for business internet service package. The service they couldn’t provide in the first place. It’s now December 2021, and it’s been over a year since I submitted my first request. They are still “working on it.” I understand that right now Suddenlink has pretty much a monopoly on high-speed internet in Tyler, Lindale and other parts of east TX. However, I hope the time will come when an actually decent company/ies will take over Suddenlink’s market. If you can help it at all-steer clear from Suddenlink. Period.

Horrible customer service. Cable service out. Can’t send someone out for 7 days. Just canceled my service and getting YouTube TV!

So I have had the same issue with Suddenlink for 3 years now. From October through February I have no internet from 10:00 pm to 8 am. I've filed complaints with my state, but was told there is nothing they can do as Suddenlink does not respond to them. All they want to do is send a technician out to find no issue and charge me 60 dollars. When I suggest the problem is not at my home, they tell me they only work on homes. The next night same thing. Call Suddenlink, get an appointment, waste time waiting on a tech, get charged 60 dollars because there is no problem. Yet, every night, no service. I am in the IT industry, so I know what is going on. Apparently, this company doesn't. As I said, this is year 3.

Terrible company. My internet is down almost every day.when I call, it’s very difficult to talk to a person. They make you go through an automated set of instructions that I already did. Had 4 technicians out to the house, making me wait for days with no internet. All made a misdiagnosis ( nice guys just incompetent) and no improvement. Very expensive for very bad service.

I strongly recommend anyone to stay as far away from suddenlink as possible. Incompetent customer service and "technicians" who literally never give an accurate reason as to WHY their service is so crummy. Overpriced and never deliver even half of the speeds you pay for. Literally a scam. My town has a class-action lawsuit against them, that is how shady this company is. I have an outage LITERALLY every day ranging from half an hour to OVERNIGHT.

So i signed up for internet and expected a 200 gift card. We had a fire and had to move and when we changed our address to the apartment we had to live in for 4 months while our house was repaired they count that as me disconnecting service and therefore they do not have to pay me. Even though the service is back at the current address I first signed up for and no one wants to listen to my reasons.

Good internet service! Ok, no ISP is great. They all have issues. Suddenlink has been really good for us for the last 5 years. Yes we had some hiccups along the way but for the most part, it has been good.
