It would have been a great experience were it not for the lack of fall back systems which now means I lose access to my own published articles.
The server my email was connected to was deleted by the third party owner of that server, and because I haven't paid for a subscription, there's no way for me to sign in or change the email associated with the account.
Feels quite unethical. Wouldn't recommend this as a platform for writers if something as simple as this could log you out from all your work.

Spam Spam Spam Spam
I made an account just to figure out how to make my own blog or something, and from that moment on i recieved 20 to 50 spam mails every day from substackers i never subscribed to, and to figure out how to stop that i had to literally research for hours. Ended up deleting my account alltogether. Terrible experience.

Substack Artificial-Stupidity.
I have written to Substack TWICE asking for support in freeing my account from their security blocks - which prevent me from accessing content I've subscribed to and also prevent me from using various tools on my personal account.
I made it clear to their Chatbot - Artificial Stupidity - that they'd not replied to one request and it was imperative they reply to the second - but nothing!
Substack are clearly a small clutch of money-grubbing scheisters with an over-weening belief in their technical prowess to the point they have no staff. Their chatbot is useless and it seems their human support is worse than useless.

Betty followed through and resolved the issue
I contacted Substack about an unwanted duplicate profile. My first exchange with Support was frustrating, but Betty revisited the case, arranged for the account to be deleted, and followed up to confirm it was done.
I appreciate her attention, professionalism, and willingness to put things right. I have updated my original review to reflect the outcome.

Cesspool of cyberstalkers
Done. I wrote a couple articles, got one paid subscriber, and then it all went to shit. This place is FILLED with toxic, horrific people, and the site does NOTHING to protect its users. I was systematically cyberstalked, harassed, and attacked by a user I reported multiple times, but Substack didn't even respond to the tickets. It was there in black and white. This other person even wrote an entire article about me. Complete stranger I had only left a thoughtful comment for on a post of hers. Nothing rude, just pointing out a rather obvious oversight. Her response was to spend the next month obsessed with me and attacking me any chance she got. The fact that Substack wouldn't even so much as acknowledge receipt of my reports against her, and did NOTHING, proves this is a very unsafe site. I no longer felt comfortable writing or sharing ANYTHING on it, and stopped using it. Lost paid subs (income) as a result. Substack seems to be, based on all my poking around in the month or two I used it, truly filled with narcissistic nutjobs. There are far better places to share your writing and thoughts than this cesspool. Considering filing a legal complaint against them, as well, due to the cyberstalking, as they don't even enforce their own ToS.

Thank Goodness for Substack
I get much of my news from substack. There are some brilliant writers, many of whom left mainstream media due to censorship of investigative reporting. You can read long form or short form essays. If someone is repeatedly wrong or inaccurate, you can cancel your subscription- which I have done. But when the mainstream media is wrong or inaccurate, you have little choice, on the left its CNN, NY times, WaPo, on the right its WSJ, Fox, NY Post. So I am grateful for substack where I can read both left and right, as well as great investigative journalism.

Egregiously harmful content and no accountability
Substack has a propaganda and disinformation problem. Their T&Cs do not adequately prohibit harmful content and it seems they have not learned from the Neo-Nazi scandal. There is no accessible feedback channel for complaints about Substack itself, and customer support does not exist.
