It’s been an entire week and the Stop and Shop website and app has been offline. We received an email this week stating that Stop and Shop was giving 10% off. We did feel a bit better. Today my wife went to the store and only got $10 off her purchase of $247. When I asked if she had gotten the 10% off she showed me the receipt listing $10 off. When she went back to the store the customer service manager rudely said to read the fine print. Sure enough the very fine print stated that $10 would be the max for at least $100 spent. My wife told her to go F herself. The app and website failures are all on Stop and Shop. An honest company would have stated $10 off a $100 purchase. Needless to say we are reevaluating our relationship with Stop snd Shop. 0 stars is preferable.

I'm sick and went to Stop n shop to get soup. While there I noticed Theraflu and thought it would be helpful so I added it to my cart. I went to self check out and when I scanned the item it stated that it was age restricted. I'm 44 years old and had left my wallet at home so I only had a picture of my ID but the employee supervising the self checkout tried to snatch the box away from me and was extremely rude about it. I said I had a picture of my license and before I could even get those words out she had said very loudly NO. I got flustered and tossed the box onto the shelf in front of me and she started trying to lecture me about her just doing her job. She walked away to complain about it to a coworker, which I could easily hear but she neglected to remove the item from the register and I had to wait for her to come back to finalize the transaction. I drove to Shoprite 4 minutes away and picked up the same box of Theraflu without even a question of my age. And just to make sure there was a stark difference I asked the worker monitoring the self checkout there if a picture of my license would be enough and she stated that it would. I don't know why Stop N Shop has such a ridiculous policy but it seems to be a reason their staff uses to act like jerks and treat customers rudely.

Store: Stop and Shop Wareham MA, #0474. Customer Service rep: Ann Marie Barrett, Sept 5, 2026. Stopped in to return an unused, unopened, non alcoholic, non tobacco, non-perishable item with receipt. Ann Marie refused to process the return until I presented her with my drivers lic. which was weird as I was not asked for a drivers lic when purchasing the item or any groceries, ever!. Needless to say, I was hesitant to give anyone my personally identifiable information especially for a small return with receipt. I did so, however, I do not think this is legal and want to report the issue. Stop and Shop - please put nice, kind, empathic people in customer service. Not rude bullies with a poor attitude as it reflects on your store. I shall take my average $400/month grocery spending to Aldi, Market Basket and Shaws going forward.

Stop & Shop at Nanuet, NY. Terrible personnel and terrible system for self checkout. After 6 months of below average experience, I’m done!!! Check out in is ALWAYS a mess. I like doing the SELF-CHECKOUT because when the cashier does it, they pile everything together mixing soft and heavy items, cold and hot, so careless they ruin fruit, eggs, bread. Unfortunately the system at self check out is a huge mess as well and 2 out of 3 times it ends up taking much longer because there is a bar code unrecognized that blocks the progress and NOBODY COMES TO UNBLOCK IT!!! Cashiers just stand doing nothing. The system does not let you continue, retry, or skip the item that is blocking. You have to wait. Last time, after waiting for 6-7 minutes for someone to unblock the system, and 2 cashiers around me standing there doing nothing, I ended up pouring everything out of my bag, into the counter and leaving. Now I know why they are called STOP and shop. You have to STOP your life to shop there! I will never go to a Stop & Shop again!!!

Last 2 times I visited I was very. Disappointed . The cashier did not know how to count the coins the customer in front of me was paying with. She needed to call someone to help her and was very disrespectful. To him They both seemed to be high schoolers .Bags were so heavy ripped while carrying into house less self service and more cashiers

I just left Stop and Shop in Berlin CT. One cashier open...8 in line! They finally opened two more cashiers. I was in line with cashier Deborah (name tag said Deb) OMG!! She couldn't have been any slower. Took forever to scan the person in front of me. Seriously slow motion. Packing up the customers grocery the same way. Someone should just watch her! So frustrating!

I was shopping at Stop&shop on December 31,2025 at Bartow Avenue in the Bronx.. I had three cases of glass:bottles of Saratoga Spring Water and other groceries I spent $186.00. I asked the Service Desk for help since I could not lift 3 cases into my car. They gave me no help. I then asked the manager near the exit door . She told me she had no one to help me with the cases. I was:parked right in front near pick up area. I had to:ask a stranger in lot to help me I am a senior citizen and disabled. Ihave very limited walking ability .:This is the first time I shopped in this store x I never had a store refuse me help. I always tip the workers that help me.

I am a frequent shopper at the North Andover Stop & Shop. I was accused of not paying twice in the last 3 months. I had the receipt in the bag the first time, but forgot to pick it up the second time. In both cases, the manager, Rolando Mendez, was arrogant, obnoxious, condescending, and the least bit apologetic. All he said was " you are set. The second time, the bagger called me from across the parking lot to tell me that I had walked away. How can this happen? Racial profiling. Rolando grabbed my camera and won't give it back. I was thoroughly humiliated. Are there legal actions I can take to prevent this from happening again? How can this happen, the checkout person accusing the shopper of not paying without absolute certainty?
