This company is so unprofessional and amateur. They make you do their job and then charge the clients. I had to research my own background/employment info and provide it to them so they could them forward it to the company. I was told that I needed 1 more bit of information and then my check would be complete. The following week I was told they needed 2 more bits of info.. and so on and so on. All of these delays eventually cost me my job. Shame on you Sterling. And shame on the companies that hire Sterling to do these background checks and believe their website stats. You give away a lot of great talent to other companies that trust their own judgement and don't fall prey to Sterling's exaggerated marketing of themselves and false claims. So Well Done!

Customer Phone Experience is great, just a bunch of bodies probably under a hammer to make the company appear like they are all reputable. However, as an organization, they are a milking organization out to suck your money. They work with a form known as a Passport. They are fond of cancelling orders and requesting a new reissue of that Passport due to any Clinical or Minor errors that could easily be corrected. By the way that re-issue of the Passport comes at a cost...no reason why minor errors cannot be corrected at no cost. They need to review their policies....

They practically harassed all my previous employers by calling them multiple times (because the information they obtain first time got lost), calling them day and night, and on Sundays! Similar happened with my friends hiring process. Terrible and not professional company staff that should be banned from contacting people or should be completely replaced. I wonder how they screen their own employees? Dear employers and agencies, please consider this information before involving this people in to your hiring process. Thank you for your consideration and understanding

I had one minor issue and one major issue with their background check and drug screening process. Minor Issue with Background check: Sterling had received my nickname, not my legal name for the background check. While filling out their form, I was given the option to change my first name and provide an alternate name; however these changes were not applied when submitted after numerous attempts. Major Issue with Drug Screen: I have an ADHD medication prescription that will result in a positive on a 5 panel urine test. Their website had no way to preemptively inform them of this and no information regarding prescriptions at all. When I went to the testing agency, I was told that they do not handle prescriptions related to the test, and that Sterling would contact me regarding any positives on the test. I was never contacted by Sterling, so I reached out to their customer support and I was told the results had been posted and to contact my employer for further assistance.

Very poor client/customer service with really unhelpful representatives. They make the cancellation process extremely arbitrary and tedious. We had to send several emails, make many calls and even send a formal letter to try to cancel our account yet they still refuse to confirm cancellation? Very bizarre business practices. What could have been a simple closure led this negative review due to the horrible experience.

I am so irate over these people. I accepted a job offer on Monday, decided that it was not the fit for me, and declined it on Tuesday, asked the recruiter to tell them NOT to conduct my background check. I called Sterling, spoke with someone who sent me an email, while we were on the phone together, that I could sign and send right back to him to WITHDRAW MY CONSENT to the background check, and send NOTHING to the employer. I did this, he assured me that it was withdrawn, and then they SENT the employer my background check this morning. I called numerous times, was told someone would call. One man called and said he would call me back in an hour. He never did. This is a LEGAL issue. They basically performed a background on me without consent, and sent it to the employer. THEN, sent it again this afternoon, after all of my complaints. Unbelievable. I will be looking into this legally.

This organization is a complete disaster and incredibly void of integrity. Going forth when interviewing for any position I’ll always remember to inquire if the potential employer has any association with Sterling. If so, my interest in that company will forever be lost. I cannot fathom why any reputable business would subject a potential new hire to this ridiculous farce. There is absolutely no reason that any individual should desire to work for a company that would enlist the services of Sterling Talent Solutions.

Submitted background check on 1/26/2018 and received result on 3/14/2018. Almost lost a candidate due to such a long wait.
