All documents that required verifying they had me do it. It cost time and money to verify who I was. They took 7 days to complete a drug test. When I reached out to customer service I was ignored. The representative labeled me as took nosy. They waited until the deadline was almost up. I am still waiting on the results for my testing. Horrible company

By far the worst company I've had to cooperate with to do a background check, gave them so much information and had to verify/prove almost all of it. Needless to say I will most likely not be getting the job I applied for due to the incompetence of Sterling.

This is so wrong in every way. Do not give them any info beyond name and birthdate - even that can result in identity theft.

I filled out all the information I needed to through sterling and they reached out to say they understood I was having problems. They then dropped my case saying it was resolved when it wasn't. I then called them to find out the status on my application and they told me it hasn't been submitted.

I understand their job may be difficult and could require a lot of information but their service is genuinely terrible. They spammed me for a week with bot-like emails asking for the same documents over and over again with no sense of speaking to a real human. Genuinely made me wonder were they and my new potential employer a scam and stealing my identity. Do not use them if you are an employer who values their image.

After previously leaving a bad review, a team in the US saw my review and advised they would look into the issue. My application has now finally progressed to the next stage, it would appear there is a training issue and I have been advised this is being looked into. I am now happy, thank you to Beth for looking into this and sorting it quickly. This is the kind of customer service a person is looking for when things go wrong.

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I actually believe they may be identity thieves. They crossed ethical lines by contacting my therapist (whom I have no idea how they found out I was seeing !!!) and asked her for information on me! She was not even a reference, I feel like they hacked my personal information to find out I was even seeing her. Of course she called and warned me about them contacting her bcs she found it extremely odd. She also cannot legally discuss my interactions with her so why would they even try to contact her!? Then they asked for a fourth reference whom I gave them, and they didn’t even contact him!!’ Ugh . I feel very unsettled about this whole predicament and how they came to have private information about me without my consent or disclosure....

The "Verification Specialist" that's supposed to be doing a check on me for a potential job, is not doing anything but making me run around and spend hours and days collecting my on eleven years of information on me. Between 30 emails it seems like she does know how to do her job or what shes doing. Every question I ask her she comes back with "I don't know" but I'm stressed out running my own background check for her! She's not even trying to do her job just keeps throwing everything back on me to figure it out and find the information for her! This is one of the worst experiences of my life. She emails me everyday all day to find the information for her!!
