The process was not user friendly at all. My experience using Sterling was very frustrating. There is a lot of troubleshooting required in order to meet the requirements. For example, you cannot have overlaps of dates in any work experience or addresses. In a world where multiple jobs and residencies at one time is a very possible situation, it will not accommodate that. There are many other cases such as this where the requirements are impossible to meet unless imputed information is altered.

The company has had my information for over two weeks now. They tell me that they have all the information they need from me, but told the employer I'm looking to work with that I've not provided everything and had them ask me for further documentation. Upon my personal inquiry of what information they needed, Sterling's Customer Care agents told me not once, not twice, but three separate times that no further information was needed on my end that they were only waiting for the drug screening to be reported back. I do not trust a background check company that has such sloppy informational transitions and cannot account for what information they need versus what they have access too. This has legitimately been THE single most unprofessional background check process I've ever been through.

I had been on the phone with them 2 full days trying to get a reset password email so I could do the background check. Every time I called it was a different reason they could not send it. An employee walked me through troubleshooting and kept yelling at me. He was not polite at all and treated me like I was unworthy of his help. Then they gave up on the situation and informed me that I needed to do it manually through the employer. To make a long story short I lost the job opportunity.

Poor website. Poor customer support. All those documents, information but they can't check a simple criminal record. What are you doing with all this information?

My experience is always delightful and they are always respectful and helpful. Everytime... Good Customer service is very important to me, important to the customer. Excellent service is not just speaking softly. But really trying to help you in whatever the situation. Keep up the Excellent work.

Initially I did not have any complaints with Sterling's services I understand it's their job to verify our application and details in full and to be fully satisfied that there are no discrepancies. My main problem with them was one simple thing the company could not verify a university degree from my home country. They asked for more information to support my degree, I provided this and to add on to this my degree was even confirmed and approved by UK NARIC for my visa application. With all additional information over my degree I provided the Sterling team miraculously could not verify a simple Bachelors degree in a month!!!!! This was just poor from my point of view either the team verifying my degree did not know what they were doing or did not put any effort at all to verify my degree. Now my firm has to do it themselves as a last minute exercise to avoid delays in my start date!!!! Post Sterling's response =================== After highlighting all my concerns above I was impressed to note that the organisation listens and takes into account customers experience in an attempt to continuously review their service. As a result despite all the challenges I faced above I have changed the firm's rating to 3 stars. Please keep up the good work and ensure no one else has to face the challenges I faced.
