Good concept, needs work
The concept is good. The flavors were all very similar. The portions were small for the price. The food packaging was always open upon arrival=the plastic containers were never shut. Plastic is wasteful especially because the containers don’t close completely, so I couldn’t even reuse. The cold packaging was questionable, my meals arrived at questionable temps. The ingredients were questionable-I’m military and cannot have hemp and it was easy to miss hemp in your ingredients. I’ve switched to Daily Harvest which has fresh ingredients as well (frozen at harvest), at about half your cost, plus the portion and content is satisfying for a meal. Their packaging is compostable and their cold packaging kept my meals in their frozen state when they were left for hours in 92F heat/humidity.

Hi Tiffany, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. I'm so sorry to hear that the meals were not the right fit for you. We do have a few meals that have hemp hearts and hemp seed oil. I asked our team and they let me know hemp hearts do not contain THC so you can definitely eat them, but I am not very versed in Military guidelines, so perhaps not. Our current meals that contain hemp: Rice and Lentil Risotto with Roasted Portabella Mushrooms - hemp hearts Coconut Kale Antioxidant Salad with Hemp Seeds and Apple Balsamic -hemp hearts Paprika Spinach Salad with Baked Tofu & Hemp Hearts - hemp hearts Smoked Veggie Burger with Sweet Potato Home Fries - hemp seed oil Mushroom and Lentil Burger with Ranch Salad - hemp seed oil I'm SO so sorry for the trouble with your meal lids as well. This is actually something that we've been speaking with our supplier about because we've seen this happen too many times over the past few weeks. In fact, we sent a sample of their lids back to them, along with some photos from a handful of other clients, and they are analyzing those lids now. We're even asking for a new lot of lids to be shipped to us right away, so hopefully, this issue eliminated very very soon. In the meantime, we're rubber-banding a variety of meals that this has happened to, and we're hoping this takes care of the problem in the interim. Our insulated packing is designed to keep meals cool through Wednesday, if your meals ever arrived warm, then they are no longer fresh, but as long as the ice packs were still cool and the meals were cool to the touch and everything looked and smelled fresh your good to go. We're always working on refining our packaging to be as environmentally friendly as possible and all of our containers are most definitely recyclable. They are 40% recycled polyethylene, including any sauce or dressing containers that might accompany your main dish. Those paper meal sleeves are recyclable as well! Again, I am so sorry it was not the right fit for you but thank you so much for giving us a try.
