Very easy to set up and use. Effective for most dogs . Collars not as durable as expected for the price .

Collar works great to keep my dog in. However, the tracking mode doesn’t work great as our cell signal isn’t the greatest in this area. This also afffects things like the recall and light feature on the collar which won’t work. I would think it would be possible to access these features via satellite, but those individual features work off cell signal which is disappointing. I looked into getting a cell booster to close this gap, but according to their tech support, this won’t work. All in all though I can’t complain. It’s been great and has kept our dog from ever escaping off of our property

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. As you stated, tracking is powered by cellular signals (not just for SpotOn - this is true for all GPS collars) and requires reliable coverage in your area. We offer a quiz on our website to help determine if tracking will work in your property and this add-on is always optional with SpotOn. Happy to hear that SpotOn has been a positive experience, even though you can't take advantage of tracking at this time. Thanks, again, for your candid review.

I truly appreciate spot on and am glad I purchased the collar for my dog. My dog is stable staying close to home and has stopped pushing the boundaries of where she can go and running after wildlife. She doesn't like the noise, so I haven't had to add the additional simulation. I'm very happy about that. Set up was easy as advertised. However, it has not been an easy process. As an older adult hearing the tones in training was difficult. Explanation and using the app to use headphones was poor. My dog got weird out with my use of the headphones and knowing what was going to come with tones. Also, the app had to be in a certain position to use. Configuring the app. by the manufacture could really help. The advertising of 30 min. support by trainer was sad. I didn't use because you had to electronically sign your life away. I'm glad with time I was able to figure out how to use the Spot-on Collar and my dog figure it out too.

The collar works great and it is easy to define the fences. My only complaint is that they don’t have a desktop/windows supported app.

The collar works great, my Pyrenees was trained fully within a week of scheduling our introductory meeting with a trainer. I can't emphasize the value of that 30 minutes - we struggled for a couple weeks before making that call, and then within days she was safe and sound. Since trying it on the Pyrenees, we bought another for our Red Heeler, and it's been extremely effective for him, too. The one ting that I'd request, and it's minimal, is that the audio alert tones have an adjustable volume. In one section of our property we have a busy road, and the tones could be a little louder to alert the dog as she gets to the edge of the fence. Over time she's learned where the boundaries are and the system is working perfectly, but louder alerts might have been helpful in initial training at least. We love the collar, service has been Five-star as well. Great product, great company. We've recommended to two other farmers in the area who are planning to become SpotOn customers as well.

Happy to hear that your training session was so valuable! Pyrenees and heelers can be so tough, so your feedback means so much!

We brought SpotOn out for our two escape–artist huskies, and the training plan they laid out actually clicked. After five weeks the girls stay inside 4 acres of woods without us sweating it. Collar feels solid but is bulkier than I hoped and the battery taps out around 26 hours—not terrible, just plan ahead. Docked one star for the price tag and occasional lag in the app.

I recently bought a spot on for my 6 month old border/aussie. The support is really great. They are there for any and all questions. The training was easy, except the alarm would not come through my phone,(I have very poor cell service in my area)so I could not hear the alarm, making it very difficult to turn my dog away from the boundary. That was my only issue. I would recommend making the alarm on the actual collar louder. Despite this problem my dog is trained and has not crossed over the boundary. We have been using the collar for just over 2 months.
