I usually don’t write reviews
I usually don’t write reviews, but this experience really pushed me to. Last Friday, I went to Spirit Halloween and bought my daughter her costume. She wanted to be a police officer, and I decided to be an inmate to match her — so I bought an inmate tag. When we got home and tried everything on, I noticed the tag was completely broken. There was no way to fix it — even superglue wouldn’t work. The following weekend, I went to a Spirit store that was closer to where I was at the time (not the same exact location I bought it from) and explained the situation. I made it clear I wasn’t trying to return it for a refund — I just wanted to exchange it for one that wasn’t broken. The employee told me they wouldn’t do the exchange because I didn’t buy it from that specific store and that other locations weren’t accepting their exchanges either. So basically, because the stores within the same company are having issues with each other, customers are the ones who suffer. I’ve spent over $350 at Spirit this season alone, and this is how they treat returning customers — refusing to replace a small, defective item. That’s just bad business. I get that policies exist, but there’s also something called customer service. I wasn’t asking for special treatment — just a working product. Do better, Spirit. This kind of unprofessionalism and lack of accountability is exactly why I won’t be shopping here again.
