On July 5th 2026 we ordered a…
On July 5th 2026 we ordered a wheelchair for our disabled daughter. The very first call to order we stated that we needed a chair with attendee brakes. We clearly told them that we mean brakes, not attendee locks. It had to have a way to slow down the chair, by the attendee, on slops as it was being pushed. We made that clear and if it was not possible we did not want to order. We were told it could be done and a Helio A6 chair was suggested by Spinlife. After we went over the customizations like size and accessories we agreed to the order. We addressed many times through calls that if we cannot get attendee brakes, not locks, we did not want the wheelchair. We pointed out many times that our request was not any kind of locking system but a means to slow the chair on downhill slops by the attendee and we were told the chair would have them.
Another thing we asked for was the hand rims with a thumb guard so our disabled daughter would not get her fingers caught.
The chair was shipped Aug 17 and when it arrived we noticed it did not have either the thumb guards on the hand rims and there were no attendee brakes. There were a few other mistakes or changed parts but it was nothing as important as the brakes.
We called and was informed it was a mistake about the thumb guards and they would send them right out to us, which they did on Sept 7, which did not get to us until Sept 14th. Upon arrival we found they only sent a thumb guard for one side.
So for two months, and over 4 thousand dollars later, our daughter still does not have a working wheelchair because we do not have the other thumb guard or the brake system we specifically ordered, and paid for.
Update for October, over three months from order. One thumb guard was sent. One, all wheelchairs have two push rims. Also a braking system was sent. Some aftermarket set that required totally different wheels to work and extended the wheels out three inches. Cheap, extremely thin and slick tires (without the foam insert we paid extra for). The tires were totally different from what we ordered ,and paid extra for, and now cannot use. What they sent squeak just rolling straight and make all kind of noise if you turn.
Who would want slick court tires for a child’s wheelchair to be pushed around on many different surfaces?
We also asked about the hand levers to apply braking to the wheels that did not fit the push handles on the wheelchair. We got an email that that just said take a knife or something to the wheelchair and cut off plastic or whatever until they fit. Yeah, we have that email, and others, to show how they respect customers 4k purchase.
Also the aftermarket parts, spinlife sent, moved the wheels out so far it made the locks on the chair no longer touch the wheels. Even with adjustment of the locks in every way possible they still will not touch and secure the chair.

No notification of delivery time
No notification of delivery time. Twice. Only got confirmation of dispatch after I wrote to threaten to cancel payment.
I cant do 1-800 outside of USA. My daughter cant speak. The problem was your service person put Spinlife email in the User field. No apology. Support hung up as soon as they admitted that. Audit your process. I'm not here to solve the problem I already spent too many hours trying to sort the situation. We have the chair now. End of story.

Extremely Disappointed with SpinLife
Extremely Disappointed with SpinLife – Buyer Beware !
I placed an order with SpinLife (Order ID: 166173058, RA Number: 60756111) for a medical bed frame and the Protekt® Aire 7000 Rotational Bed Mattress System, totaling approximately $4,000.
The bed frame arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but the mattress—the most important part of the order—never did.
I am non-ambulatory and at high risk for developing pressure sores, so this mattress was not a luxury purchase. It was a medical necessity.
I want to be fair and give credit where it’s due. Lisa G. was professional, knowledgeable, and very helpful during the sales process. She made the purchasing experience easy, and I have no complaints about her.
Unfortunately, everything after the sale was extremely disappointing.
I repeatedly checked my SpinLife order status, but there were never any meaningful updates regarding the mattress. After waiting, I called customer service for an update and was told someone would get back to me. No one ever did.
Again, I had to contact SpinLife myself.
After my second call, I still had no answers. It wasn’t until my third phone call—after I continued pursuing the issue—that I was finally told the truth: the mattress was out of stock, and SpinLife had no estimated date for when it would become available.
This is information I believe I should have been told immediately, not after a week of waiting and multiple follow-up calls.
The solutions offered were disappointing:
* Purchase a different mattress that cost nearly twice as much as the one I originally ordered, or
* Accept a temporary loaner basic mattress until the Protekt Aire 7000 eventually became available—with no timeline whatsoever.
As a customer, this left me feeling that my medical needs and my time were not important.
Whether intentional or not, the experience felt very much like a bait-and-switch. I placed an order for a specific product, only to later learn it wasn’t available and then be presented with a significantly more expensive alternative.
My advice to anyone considering ordering from SpinLife is this:
Before you spend thousands of dollars or any money , get written confirmation that every item you are ordering is actually in stock and available for immediate shipment. Also, obtain written confirmation that if SpinLife cannot provide the products as ordered, you are entitled to a full refund without restocking fees or other penalties.
I sincerely hope no one else has to go through the frustration, wasted time, and stress that I experienced while waiting for medically necessary equipment.
I have learned an expensive lesson. I will not be purchasing from SpinLife again, and I cannot recommend them based on my experience .

We apologize that the mattress you ordered is currently on backorder and was unavailable for use with your bed.
As a result, the mattress order has been canceled, and you will receive a full refund for the mattress. We have also arranged a return for the bed and are waiving all return fees. Once the bed is returned, you will receive a full refund for the bed as well.

To have an item purchased and charged
To have an item purchased and charged, then be advised the item is backordered for months is ridiculous. Terrible practice.

I am sorry the item you purchased was on a backorder. I see your order has been canceled and refunded per your request. Thank you.

Convaid cruiser
I purchased a Convaid cruiser stroller for my daughter with special needs and was very disappointed. Based on the photos and descriptions, I expected a supportive, user-friendly stroller for everyday use. Once it arrived, I found it complicated to adjust, difficult to operate, and not nearly as supportive as I had hoped. Honestly, for our needs, a basic Target stroller felt easier to use.
What really frustrated me was the return process. The stroller cost $3,243, and although they accepted the return, I was charged a 20% restocking fee and over $600 in return shipping through FedEx Ground. In the end, I received only $2,594 back. Despite explaining my concerns, the company would not work with me on the fees.
Families of children with special needs already face enough challenges and expenses. I understand companies need return policies, but these fees felt excessive and were never something I anticipated when making such a large purchase
Response from SpinLife.comJun 23, 2026
We are sorry to hear that the Convaid stroller did not meet your needs. These fees you had to pay to return are part of our return policy, which is agreed to at the time of purchase. We aim to be as transparent as possible by providing detailed product information and outlining our return policy in advance, so customers can make informed decisions before completing their purchase.
