Good advice , researched well, hopefully the tour will be as promised

Staff was very responsive and friendly. However, I did have some difficulty with making hotel arrangements. After making my 20% down payment, I was informed the hotels I had selected were no longer available. Typically this would not be a big reason for concern, but the trip was advertised as an Eco trip in which you would stay at local estancias, which included all meals and horseback riding at one of the locations. No comperable alternatives were available. Fortunately, the travel agent I worked with was able to move dates around so that we could still stay at one of the estancias. However, i was charged additional fees in order to accommodate necessary transportation back to the airport. To me, this was a bit of a poor experience as any changes in hotels/fees should have been confirmed before accepting down payment was accepted.

Generally very responsive with changes and updates dealt with speedily but the attention to detail perhaps a little lacking. These reviews should really be after the trip - it is more important to know that you are looked after whilst overseas.

We are still only in process of planning our trip to the Galapagos. We thought everything was settled, but then encountered life changes that required significant and uncertain revision to our plans. Charlotte provided options in our itinerary to address various outcomes that we could not predict. What could have been quite a stressful situation, was handled seamlessly and professionally. I am grateful that we were lucky enough to have Charlotte by our side.

Tom at South American Travel arranged all flights , hotel, guides, etc. You tell them where you want to go, how much to spend and how many days you have for vacation, they will customize your trip. Everything on the itinerary was like clockwork. No worries with friendly guides and contacts meeting you at each new location. We highly recommend them.

Our experience has been nothing but superior with Tye Rogerson. Friendly, upbeat, professional and extremely prompt with answers to questions. Will definitely use this company and highly recommend them to anyone looking or exploring a trip to South America!

They make what could be an overwhelming planning experience, something easy and fun!

I booked my mother's train trip on the luxury Hiram Bingham for a one day trip to Machu Picchu through Mr.Tye Rogerson of South American travel. My mother was presently in Peru and I live in Chicago, Il but this was not a problem for They who managed the entire trip with pristine results. My mother LOVED the trip especially the train ride. I would HIGHLY recommend South American Travel-(especially Tye Rogerson) to see your travel through. He's a consummate professional that can handle the most difficult issues. When my husband & I decide to go to Machu Picchu we will certainly book through South American Travel with Tye. Thank you so much for a memorable trip for my mother. Best!
