If I could rate sondermind lower than one star I would. I went to this company for therapy several months ago and, after being discharged, I am probably going to need therapy again because of the garbage I am going through with them. To make a long story short sondermind took $500.00 from my bank account in a lump sum payment. I did not consent to it nor was there authorized. One day I wake up with 600.00 dollars and the next hour my account is over drafted. I've been fighting this for the past two days. I had to file a claim with my bank in addition to updating my payment information. Not to mention the circles I have had to run in dealing with their representatives. I hate sondermind so much and I regret using them for my therapy. I implore you to not use this company's services. They are not about your mental well being. They want money, period.

This whole thing feels like a scam. They seem to be very pushy trying to get you in. I was referred to them by the VA specifically for PTSD and I asked for trauma therapy but the therapist kept doing everything but therapy, talking herself up the whole time, giving me maybe three minutes out of the whole session to talk. Not an exaggeration. I timed it. She talked the WHOLE TIME. We did probably five or six sessions and she called me by the wrong name every single time, even after correction, and completely avoided talking about actual trauma therapy or anything about my past at all. She was late every single time by 15-20 minutes and would spend a lot of time looking for things to send me or trying to have me watch videos during the session. Seriously asked me why I stayed in an abusive relationship like it was my fault, saying she didn’t ask before because she didn’t want me to get offended. Laughed at me when I mentioned cognitive processing therapy, a pretty standard treatment for PTSD. All I got was the same exact advice I had given kids as a case manager for two years, grounding and mindfulness techniques, and I’m in no way qualified to be a therapist, and some seriously bad advice when it comes to trauma telling me that her methods were “magic” and “work every time” and “all my clients are happy”. Basically just “don’t think about unhappy thoughts and then all your trauma will go away even though we’ll never talk about it here either”. When I ended my services with her, she tried to get me to keep coming and said she could look some things up on trauma in her book of therapy stuff, no thanks. I also have the internet. I requested a new therapist who messaged me saying it was the final notice to get me in even though it was the first time I had heard from her. I asked if she had any trauma specific training or certifications and she did not. It is DANGEROUS that the VA or anyone for that matter, would refer someone here, for PTSD especially, with therapists agreeing to treat patients for things they do not know how to treat. People die from this stuff and if they believe they are getting proper treatment and it’s not helping, because it isn’t actually real trauma therapy, it could be even more discouraging and deadly. Stay away.

After many years I finally planned to see a therapist and after a week of filling out stuff on the app and talking with a dr, the doctor never showed up for our first video session. After waiting 45 minutes for a doctor to no avail I called their customer support 2x who sent me messages saying that they couldn’t hear my phone message😫 they billed the VA for the session anyway. I’m pretty sure this is a fraudulent company. Don’t use this app, use anything else

Horrible company, the billing issues are really bad. My insurance company asked them for more info and they did not give Cigna the info, I was in turn charged over $200.00. The customer service is worst, they do not have an answer for anything. I highly suggest going against this company.

I'm giving 2 stars because my son likes his therapist. But, their billing dept is terrible! They billed 8 visits in one day at $25/day (our co-pay) instead of during each visit. This unexpected excess coming out of our bank account weeks after the visits is ridiculous. They've done this twice now. Come up with a better system. How about charging the co-pay at the time of the visit instead of everything at once?! AWFUL!

joke joke joke. I sent an email to have a consultation, and no one responded, except the generic 'yes I'd love to work with you! set up a session with me and enter your CC information' but when I tried to message back I wasn't allowed b/c I refused to put in CC info. fake fake fake. I'm taking my kids mental health seriously, and this fraudulent site is irritating and a time suck. I'm looking for resources, not losers who want my CC number. ugh

I matched with my licensed counselor within minutes, navigation on the online portal was simple and I was able to fill out all the necessary paper work first with insurance information. I was able to review the cost, which was just my co-pay like any office visit. I started weekly appointments (my choice) for the fist month, now I started every two week appointments. Appointments are easy to set up via online or texting with my counselor. I started using SonerMind over 2 months now. I have really been able to tackle things from my past, memories and experiences and understand how I felt and why. I've gained some peace. It's a journey, but my counselor has been on it with supportive conversations to experience raw emotions I never let myself have. I'm thankful and very hopeful that once I'm done with this process, I'll be equipped with more tools for my toolbox to deal with life's unexpected twists. Use them if you know how to nagivate online portals and don't want to travel in-person, because the virtual visits are what make it an easy priority to give my mental health a monthly check-up.

This is not a service you can count on. The other people are absolutely right. They are not dependable or trustworthy. They will occasionally decide to make you change your password without any heads up. When you call to try to get help. They tell you that it will be 3 to 5 business days. They might do this if they are in a good mood. I finally realized that Sondermind is run by a bunch of Woke liberals. I am better off by myself. Dealing with them was making my PTSD worse, and that is not something that I need.
