It works great in tight spaces and I like that it doesn’t occupy any space with a swinging door but it is annoying to open and close in a hurry.

Great gate for pets. Keeps our two young Blue Heeler pups where we want them and not all over the house, chewing things up. Great quality product, would highly recommend to all pet owners.

We have really enjoyed our new gate. It is outside on our deck to keep our dogs in. It is so easy to open and close. We got the kind that straps onto our deck posts which is great since no holes were made in our deck... I would recommend this to others. It is also attractive and looks great on our brand new deck.

Love this gate. It was the only one I could find that was wide enough and that could fit on my decorative wood banisters without drilling in them

I enjoy the ease of the retract a gate. The combination of thick carpet and 2 open banisters on the stairs added complexity to installation. Would buy again.

My tiny home with multiple openings was too difficult for me to keep dogs and grandbaby corralled! Retract a gate is sleek, subtle, snd effective. I bought two for each of my kitchen openings. I would have bought three, but my daughter rents and used an alternative gate for the baby. My husband loves the design. My grandbaby pays close attention, and with the way it handles, she wont be able to work the mechanism. It keeps her fingers away from doggies that slatted gates don’t protect her from as well!

Hi Dana—Yes, Retract-A-Gate is sleek, modern, and is only about 3.5-inches in diameter when retracted. Plus, it also moves from one location in your home to another with ease. Thank you for the 5-star review, and please let us know if you ever have any questions. Deanna at Smart Retract.
