For this fan,FIRST TIME it should be connected under the 2.4ghz network.Yes,for the FIRST TIME,the 5 ghz channel should be turned off.BUT If it is connected successfully for the first time,the fan can be controlled by the wall switch or smart app at anytime as long as the bluetooth is turned on,no matter what Wifi channel you use.
