Since the place is called "Skin Spa New York," I was expecting a relaxing, warm, comforting, lovely spa-like environment. However, this place is located within a hair salon (this is the UES location, FYI), and has a very cold, clinical appearance and feel (more akin to a doctor's office than a spa). It does not have any spa-like amenities, such as steam rooms or saunas, and does not offer any expected extras, like spa-water, locker rooms, a ladies room with skin care and hair care products to use, etc. Instead, you simply get the service you book-- nothing more, nothing less. That said, the service I received was just fine, and the esthetician was kind and competent. I probably won't go back, just because I expect a lot more out of a spa (and it's not cheap!), and there are just too many better options to pay this much for subpar offerings.

I planned a weekend with friends from out of town (PA) for my sister that was celebrating her 50th birthday that entailed going to the Skin Spa for massage therapy! We were all amazed at how therapeutic and relaxing the massages were along with the wonderful service and tranquil ambiance of the spa! I was so satisfied and pleased with everything that I purchased a few more sessions and have already spread the word of my wonderful experience! Thank you Skin Spa!!! I look forward to seeing you again very soon....

it was my first time here because of a groupon but not my first time waxing - it was hot in there, I was not greeted by the technician, it was a rushed session which caused extreme pain and breakage of the hair (no clean feeling after waxing). in fact there was an area towards the back that still had untouched hair. will i come back here? definitely not unless they offer to redeem themselves with a different person and they get AC. oh. and I had to tip on the full price, which I usually do, but felt was an extreme tip for a terrible service.

Always had a great experience. Scheduling is easy, prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly & good at what they do.

I had the BEST experience! This was a gift from my husband for my birthday that he found on groupon. Even though we found deal on groupon, we were treated with just as much excellence and friendliness as if we purchased directly through them. My facial was very enjoyable and Dara was very helpful and explained everything she was doing. I appreciated her advice on a few things I could do to improve my skin's health. I highly recommend this place!!

I went to Skin Spa on 37th for the first time before a vacation last week. The front desk staff was welcoming and friendly! There was champagne and the atmosphere was relaxing. Silviya was my waxer (waxist?...) and she was so nice. The process was as quick and painless as possible and the room was clean and comfortable. I immediately sent texts to my friends afterwards about my positive experience. Only negative is that I could not leave a tip on my credit card but Skin Spa offers an ATM in the reception area for that reason so, crisis averted. I will definitely be going back and am considering additional beauty treatments in the future!

The place is very clean, their staff is superb!

It is a great place with a amazing atmosphere. When you go in, in the lobby they provide anything you need, from information to a glass of champaing. Amanda which has an amazing customer service, can provide you with any help you need. On the other side, britanny which provided the service, has amazing hands and advices for your face!!
