So when I went to go get the mammogram, the first part of it was covered, and when they came back inconclusive, I had to go back for two more mammograms, which were not covered, but they might be covered because of the type of mammal that’s given there’s not much help when it comes to figuring this out on your own it makes you to the point where you have to call up there and ask for help which the staff is super friendly but this is something that I would’ve liked to have figured out on my own. And I’m really confused why you would not cover a diagnostic or ultrasound mammo. But that’s fine. Than I got denied for the paytient card that I was hoping to help me pay

Routine screening mammograms are considered preventive care and are covered before the deductible is met. What counts as preventive care isn’t defined by Sidecar Health — it’s established by federal law. When a screening mammogram requires additional imaging because of inconclusive results or to investigate a potential finding, that follow-up care is generally considered diagnostic rather than preventive. That distinction isn’t a Sidecar Health decision or plan design.

This is not traditional insurance, it's really not insurance at all. It's a matter of wether they decide to cover an expense or not. Usually not. The only thing you can count on with them is taking your payment every month. Poor communication, payment and service. Worst insurance I've had in over 50 years

Sidecar Health is different from traditional health insurance by design — but it is absolutely health insurance. Our plans are ACA-compliant major medical insurance, regulated and subject to the same requirements as other health insurers. What’s different is the model. Instead of relying on restrictive networks, prior authorization and referrals, Sidecar Health gives members the freedom to see any licensed provider and transparency into how much they’ll pay for care. Costs are guaranteed, and members can use the app to shop for care knowing that when they choose care that costs less than their Benefit Amount — the amount Sidecar Health pays, based on average local prices — they keep half the savings. If they choose higher-cost care, they pay the difference. Either way, the choice is theirs and the cost is known upfront. It’s also possible that you’re enrolled in an HSA-eligible plan. If so, federal rules require members to pay the full cost of most non-preventive care until their deductible is met. Preventive care — including federally defined services like routine checkups, vaccinations and recommended screenings — is covered before the deductible. When a member pays for non-preventive care in full before meeting their deductible, it’s not a reflection of Sidecar Health’s coverage; it’s the way federal law requires HSA plans to function.

everyone that I spoke with at SideCar has been very helpful. I wasn't used to this type of insurance coverage and they did a good job of helping me to understand how they're able to save money. . They paid my primary care physician & some other bills right away. I think it's a great way to save on costs.

It’s a very different way of providing insurance but it is consumer driven and very educational as far as how different providers charge vastly different prices for care. The learning curve is more than just switching traditional insurance companies but it’s still easy and doable. This is the way of the future so why not start now.

The only thing I don't like is that the laboratories and the supplies of my CPAP products, cover very little.
