NYC to W.
Upcharge for extra boxes, but they were all half empty!!!
Shleppers moved us from NYC to Westchester and only when the truck was a few minutes from our new house did they tell me they needed to charge an extra $775 because they used more boxes than they planned. When they had all my worldly possessions hostage I had no choice but to agree. I only found out after they left that the boxes were half full, some even less than half, so of course they used more boxes. Other fun facts about the move, the movers got into a fight with the super over their refusal to let an elderly resident use the elevator and the super kicked them out, so I had to finish moving the rest of my belongings out of our Manhattan apartment myself. When I complained to the company they responded, and I thought they had reversed the charges, but they apparently didn't. When I complained again they said that it was my fault for not complaining sooner, and then refused to help.
