Loyal customer ignored: 3 days of radio silence over lost high-value package
I've been using ShipToBox for my forwarding orders & was previously so happy with their service that I left them a 5-star review in the past.
Unfortunately, I am now facing a completely different situation and an incredibly disappointing attitude from their team.
FedEx delivered a 2-box shipment of high-value inventory to their New Castle warehouse on Tuesday, October 20th. One box was scanned into my account, but the second box has completely vanished. According to FedEx tracking and the official Proof of Delivery (POD), both boxes were delivered and signed for at the exact same time.
I have been contacting ShipToBox continuously since Wednesday via both email and WhatsApp, and I have received absolutely zero info on the progress of any investigation. 3 business days have passed with no action at all. After ignoring me for days, they are now telling me to wait until Monday just to start looking for it!
I completely counted on shipping out my parcel this week to receive it early next week. Now my timeline is ruined, and they are telling me to wait for god knows how long. As a loyal customer, the complete radio silence and total lack of urgency or accountability is unacceptable. I need an operations manager or supervisor to contact me immediately with a formal case number and an actual update on the physical search for my missing box today.

Incomplete shipment
Out of 10 of my parcels, they only put 8 in the final box. As a result, I didn’t receive two retro games worth about $100. The company hasn’t contacted me in any way; they reply to messages only a day later and claim they’re clarifying something with their own warehouse. Terrible experience — I wouldn’t recommend it.

Fraud alert...you MUST give them your credit card details ALONG WITH the 3-digit security code as a prerequisite for an account!
After carefully comparing the shipping prices of various forwarding services, I decided to go with ShipToBox. Signing up was a straightforward process. The first major problem reared its ugly head however, when they required me to upload an ID as well as a photo or scan of the front and back of my credit card. WHAT??? I've never heard of such a thing before - a lot of companies will require you to save your credit card number as a requirement for membership, but this is the first time I had to upload a photo of both the front AND the back along with the security code. I scanned both sides of my credit card and blacked out the security code before uploading both photos.
So I thought that was it and my account was now complete. But NO, I also had to fill in my credit card information in a separate section, INCLUDING the 3 digit security code. This was crossing a HUGE line, especially since the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) guidelines prohibit companies from storing the CVV (credit card security codes) of their customers!
I contacted their customer service via chat and explained that I would not under ANY circumstances be giving them both my credit card number AS WELL AS the 3 digit security code, as this would leave me financially vulnerable should their system ever get hacked or should a rogue employee decide to help themselves to a shopping spree courtesy of my credit card. The agent assured me that entering the 3-digit code on the form was optional. I tried filling out the credit card information WITHOUT the 3-digit code and was given an error message telling me to fill in all the missing information.
I sent a screenshot to their agent so they could see that leaving out the 3-digit security code was NOT optional. They then apologized and offered me another option: I would need to make a wire transfer to their account and for the honor of doing so, I would also need to pay a $15 bank fee.
It was at this point that I realized that I was not dealing with a serious company and that this was obviously a fraudulent operation. I asked them to immediately delete my account as well as ALL my data. I'll look elsewhere for another forwarding service with standard security policies.
Addendum: Response to ShipToBox's response from Oktober 5.
"For card verification, customers are instructed to hide sensitive information such as the CVV/security code when uploading the card image."
This is simply NOT TRUE! At NO POINT WHATSOEVER was I ever instructed to hide any details before uploading a copy of my credit card. Unfortunately I can't upload a screenshot from ShipToBox's website to prove this, but after opening an account, you are specifically instructed to upload a scanned copy of both sides of your credit card. There are NO FURTHER instructions advising you to hide anything! Furthermore, in a separate section in your customer profile you MUST ALSO provide the three digit security code (CVV) in order for your account to be activated. Account activation is IMPOSSIBLE without this information! I complained bitterly to their WhatsApp customer service, after which I was advised that I could forgo entering my three digit security code ONLY IF I made a transfer to their bank account in addition to paying a $15 fee.
So you are faced with the choice of either
1. Uploading a scanned copy of your credit card including the security code AS WELL AS entering the security code in a separate section in your customer profile, OR
2. Making a transfer to their bank account and paying a $15 fee.
NO OTHER ONLINE MERCHANT has such a ridiculous requirement!
If this were truly about identity verification, which is understandable, then a copy of my passport or other official ID should have been enough. Why do they need my credit card number AS WELL AS my three digit security code? This makes NO SENSE whatsoever and puts the credit card holder at significant risk of fraud!

Hello Hepkat,
We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand your concerns regarding the account verification process.
The requested documents are part of our security and payment verification procedures, designed to protect both our customers and our services against unauthorized transactions and fraud. For card verification, customers are instructed to hide sensitive information such as the CVV/security code when uploading the card image.
We also regret the confusion regarding the card information form and the alternative payment option. The $15 bank fee applies to wire transfers as a bank processing fee and is not an additional ShipToBox service charge.
We respect your decision to close your account and apologize that the verification process did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your feedback, as it helps us review and improve our processes.
Thank you,

They are cheating- Charged me DIM for Pickup too.
Feels like a scam. My experience with ShipToBox has been extremely frustrating, and I feel completely misled by its fees and the way my shipments were handled.
I paid $127 for pickup service, although the combined actual weight of my items was only 85 lb.
I sent three parcels: two through FedEx and one through another carrier. The original tracking records clearly state each parcel’s weight. However, after ShipToBox received them, it recorded 140 lb for a TV that weighed only 36 lb according to the prior tracking, and 50 lb for a computer monitor that weighed only 30 lb according to FedEx tracking.
I supplied prepaid shipping labels and had already paid FedEx based on the dimensional/volumetric weight. ShipToBox then charged dimensional weight again for its pickup service. This means I am being charged twice for dimensional weight.
ShipToBox says the billable weight is whichever is greater—actual or dimensional weight—and gives the formula:
Length × Width × Height (in inches) ÷ 139
But that appears to apply to its SHIPPING SERVICE only. I had already paid FedEx for shipping based on dimensional weight. ShipToBox lists pickup as $10 + $0.50 per lb, but does not clearly state whether the pickup charge is based on actual weight or volumetric weight. I reasonably expected pickup to be charged on actual weight when I was already paying FedEx for dimensional weight.
All three boxes remained there for three days or less, yet I was charged $127. It also took more than 60 hours for my packages to be checked into my account.
Customer service agreed that the there is problem, but the concerned team has still not provided a resolution. I am waiting for their reply; otherwise, I will dispute the charge with my bank.
I strongly recommend not to use there service because they charge way too high.
I will update the review and rating if i found any resolution.

Hello Karan,
We’re sorry to hear that you’re dissatisfied with your experience. We understand your concern regarding the pickup charges, especially since you had already prepaid the carrier for the transportation of your packages.
We’d like to clarify that our pickup service is charged based on the chargeable weight, which is the greater of the actual or dimensional weight. This applies to pickup orders as well, and our website states that the pickup fee is $10 + $0.50 per pound based on chargeable weight.
In this case, the additional amount was not a duplicate carrier shipping charge. It was the processing/pickup fee calculated based on the chargeable weight of the packages received at our facility.
We also understand your concern regarding the time taken to process the packages, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience this caused. Our team has been following up on your case, and as a goodwill gesture, we offered a $20 credit toward your upcoming shipment.
We value your feedback and will also review how these charges are presented to ensure the information is as clear as possible for our customers.
Thank you,

Scam.
Scam.
Shipped for the first time and a total disappointment. Product amount is around 200g, which cost $45, they quoted me for 9 lbs and $51 shipping.
it doesnt end there, to my surprise the shipping fee does not include custom duties. When the parcel came it only weighed 185grams. No box or anything, just bubble wrap and the plastic from fedex.
Customer service are incompetent.

An absolute nightmare.
An absolute nightmare.
The site is extremely difficult, near impossible to navigate.
I’ve been trying to register and have spent literally HOURS trying to have a package forwarded to me. I experienced an exceptionally rude SR on the chat who simply left me stuck in the middle without providing adequate answers
Don’t know who has put in all the positive reviews
Avoid at all costs!

My experience with ShipToBox was disappointing
I may not agree with what the majority of customers think of ShipToBox, but my personal experience says otherwise. On my first shipment, they failed to declare the actual freight I paid ($48), and FedEx used a default rate of $125 for customs. That inflated the dutiable value and I ended up paying 70% of the item’s cost in duties and taxes.
I reached out with full documentation, but ShipToBox deflected everything to FedEx and customs. The issue wasn’t about duties—it was about missing freight declaration, which is not something I control as a customer. Their replies were generic and didn’t offer any resolution or accountability.
I won’t be using their service again, and I hope others double-check the fine details before trusting the process.

Hi Eugene
Thanks for your feedback and we do apologize for the experience you had, As we have mentioned to you the fees were out of our hands as it was applied by FedEx not us , and when we have shipped you order it was containing all the needed documentations the FedEx lost it , because of that they asked for it again.
Thank You
