Overall decent. Samantha was very communicative on the front end of the process. We were able to get scheduled quickly. The price I'd say was reasonable. I paid for extra insurance and in house delivery so for an enormous 350lb king sized mattress, three huge boxes and a snowboard bag, I'd say $2100 cross country was worth it. My quote did not change as it was in line with my original weight estimate (this is where people keep complaining but it's their fault for underestimating their item weight). The knock though here is the time. I reached out every other week to get an update on an ETA and one was not provided (nothing shipped yet). It's totally understandable that this could take a few weeks. But after a month of no action it began to drag on. Only after 6 weeks when I escalated this was there any movement. From there it took 9 days to deliver (reasonable) and the delivery was well received. So as long as you're not in a hurry to get your things or have anything fragile (I see that complaint too), then this service is a means to an end for less than private movers.

**edited review to add a star after Ship Smart reached out to rectify the situation a bit by offering a partial refund. Ana from customer service was particularly kind and helpful. I appreciate the gesture and would consider using Ship Smart again in the future if I needed. We used Ship Smart to get transport 2 sentimental items from my grandmother across the country to our new home. They arrived on time and well packaged. But the main issue was the cost. They upped the price twice, including after the items had been picked up, despite us providing accurate measurements and weight for the items.

I'll be honest...this wasn't the best experience for us. We hired Ship Smart to move my daughter from Texas to Ohio. While the people were all very nice, the crew that packed up her belongings in Dallas were not terribly careful and several things were damaged. That said, customer service has been very responsive and very helpful in rectifying the situation.

Shipment from Cleveland, Ohio to Sarasota, Florida Good news: whatever arrived, arrived undamaged Bad news: Over one third of the shipment never arrived. They had no explanation. Update March 23, 2023: Customer service representative Trish and Vice President Tim were profusely apologetic and took full responsibility. Tim fully addressed my concerns about the loss of our items and fully compensated me for that loss. I am grateful for the support we received. Thank you Ship Smart, Trish and Tim. You acted in a caring, responsible, authentic manner. So appreciative. With gratitude.

I used Ship Smart services last summer to move my belongings out of state. The length of time for delivery was delay for about two weeks from the schedule date. The company send only the driver to deliver all the items without no helper. My husband had to be the helper. The final payment was triple the price from the initial quote. I spend more money that I anticipated. I had other quotes from other companies, but I went with Ship Smart thinking I would be saving money in comparison with the other companies, but in the long round it did not pay off. We packed the fragile items in boxes and well padded, and marked the the boxes fragile, but we receive these items broken up and chair foot was also broken. The positive aspect is that we receive all of our boxes and the truck driver was friendly.

** Update -- Smart Ship is going to reimburse me approximately $450 to go towards the repair of my furniture that was damaged during the move. Good customer service to satisfy an unhappy customer. Buyer Beware with Ship Smart. I was moving 5 pieces of furniture from New Jersey to Georgia. These were items that belonged to my mother that I received after she passed away several months ago. These items are family heirlooms; antiques and lots of sentimental value. The original move estimate was $950 and I told them over the phone that seemed low. They readjusted to $1,100. After packing the items and moving to a warehouse, the estimate jumped to $2,200. I had no recourse as my items were in a warehouse. I have a driveway that is 100 yards long. Ship Smart wanted an additional $700 to move the items from the cul de sac to the front of my house. When I unpacked the items from the crates, two were damaged! They were poorly packed in the crates. A 75 year old bakers rack had a bent leg. A 75 year old coffee table legs had come apart. I did get insurance, but the deductible is $250 per piece and the repairs will be less than that. So disappointed and unimpressed with the service!! I should have used the local mover in New Jersey and paid a little more. I would not be dealing with the aggravation of getting these family treasures repaired.

The guys that picked up my stuff were accommodating and kind. The challenge was the delivery as they do not offer weekend delivery, which is short sighted and ridiculous. I called the corporate office for the third party delivery company that they use and they were able to coordinate a decent time that worked with my schedule, but it took a lot of energy and unnecessarily wasted my time.

things went well except when it came to communication the was a lack thereof. Was told things were to be delivered between 10am and 2pm. I had people who took time out of their day and cancelled appointments to insure someone was home to receive. nobody communicated to me there were delays and nothing showed up till 4pm. Seems to me communication is not high on priority list.
