Two good years, then repeated failures
We used ShipMonk for about two years and were initially happy, which is why this is two stars rather than one. Over the past three to six months, however, the service deteriorated badly. Dozens of returned units sat in quarantine for months because of an acknowledged technical issue, while we continued paying storage. We sent the requested poly bags, but the rework still was not completed, and even our request to have the inventory returned stalled. Fulfillment was suspended when our prepaid balance went $8 negative. A wholesale shipment with no outbound scan was declared lost, so we sent a replacement at ShipMonk’s advice. The original later shipped, leaving us with the replacement and return costs. Another large international order sat on the loading dock for two weeks until I personally chased it down. Most seriously, ShipMonk supplied incorrect customs paperwork that produced a charge of more than $1,000. They acknowledged the error and told us to pay it and claim the money back. After we paid, meaningful responses largely stopped, and we still have not been reimbursed. On our final day, they also invoiced us for 55 pallets when we used four, and our final inventory transfer was short-shipped. Mistakes happen. The decisive issue was the repeated failures, weak handoffs, and lack of accountability after acknowledged errors. We did not want to leave, but eventually moved our inventory to another 3PL. Based on our recent experience, I would not recommend ShipMonk.
