Outstanding - highly recommend
I cannot say enough good things about my experience with shipping my daughter's car from Los Angeles, CA to Louisville, KY with Ship A Car Direct. The entire process was easy, efficient and flawless. David was invaluable to me, getting everything in order and keeping me informed of what steps were next, every step of the way. The car was picked up within two days of us contacting them, and delivered a day early by a very professional driver in a very nice, clean transport truck, in perfect shape for a very reasonable price - $800. My initial quote never once changed from first contact through delivery of the car. There weren't and aren't any weird upcharges or surprises at any point in the transaction. I loved having the eyes, ears and hammer of a third party on my side during the entire process. I read a ton of reviews. After reading all of Ship A Car Direct reviews, as well as their responses to any issue that arose - which was outstanding - they were the ONLY company I felt 110% confident in going with. There is a lot of absurdity and irrelevance to wade through in the reviews. Here are the three most important things to keep in mind when reading them, making your decision and going through the shipping process: #1 - The car arrived in the same shape it was in when loaded. This is the number one MOST important thing. Hold that thought out in front of you like a boss. #2 - REMEMBER: The delivery date is ALWAYS an ESTIMATE. The car may arrive on time, days early or days late. Expect any range of that to be NORMAL, not fair game for complaining or reduced ratings. Your vehicle must travel across miles of roadways, snarled traffic, detours, road closures, accidents, bad weather and sometimes unsafe and OH MY GOODNESS dirty road and grime conditions! YES your car may get dirty or have road tar! SERIOUSLY PEOPLE PUT ON YOUR BIG GIRL PANTIES: BE REAL and BE FAIR in your expectations and in your final reviews. Refer to #1 if you get confused at any point. If you think you can do a better job at this, then YOU drive your car to its destination and expect to achieve full enlightenment on this topic whenever you do arrive. But wait, you need this help, so be realistic in what's possible with the physical transportation of your vehicle across the miles. We're talking transport trucks, not teleportation. #3 - BE SMART & FOLLOW ALL THE RULES: If you did something stupid like stow personal items behind the seats to save yourself a few bucks at the post office (the place you should have shipped out your personal items) when you were told to not do this under ANY circumstances, or had some crazy fandangled after market car system that changed the cars basic and normal operation, and didn't provide full disclosure along with several printed signs in at least two languages taped to the windows, or if the delivery driver didn't speak to you with rainbows and butterflies in his voice, or if the driver didn't speak the worlds most perfect Edwardian High Society English - slap yourself and MOVE ON. You're not selecting a dress for the Oscars, you're hiring a trucking company through a broker who will see your car through for you across country with the goal of achieving that almighty #1 goal. You're only going to make yourself look bad blaming the broker for your own mistakes. Once again, refer to #1 if you're at all confused in any way on these concepts. We could not have been happier with a situation that can be filled with pitfalls over one of your most important and costly possessions. I have zero affiliation with this company, I'm the founder of a 15 year old non-profit who helps women through surgery all over the world, so I had no previous experience moving a car and was really worried about how to do this until I found them. I would give Ship A Car Direct 20 stars if I could. A million billion thank yous. I'd use them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend that you do, too.
