Change of Heart
3/27/25 Updated Review: I want to make an amendment to my review which was originally 2 stars for the reasons in the original review. It was upsetting that it took a couple of bad reviews to get any answers, but after speaking to Ryan and being a former business owner, licensed property manager and former Regional Marketing, I decided that this turn around was earned through good customer service. Don’t get me wrong, I hated that it took a bad review for it to be looked into, but I still got to talk to a person, Ryan, who was able to fix everything that was wrong , verified the package I bought, and explained how the third party genetic counseling app worked. He also shared my frustration with the medical community and was very open to feedback. Also I want to keep the message about the interface and consumer experience as far as getting sequencing done at the top of the review. I have had my genome done partially through 23&me and 3 WGS 100x through nebula 30xWGS & WGS but I don’t remember how many times processed through the NIH free all of us program. Sequencing.com is by far the most user friendly. It is much more simple to read than nebula and the free WGS from the NIH data isn’t even available for me to see, plus with Trump cuts the NIH is proposed to have funding cut so I have no idea what will happen to my data. I do also like the more scientific data so Sequencing just makes it easier to filter through data. You get some free reports through the professional package monthly and you can purchase 3rd party analysis to hone in on specific issues. Some of the reports need work, but if you just reach out and talk to a human there about your grievances they will work with you. I was originally going to leave my terrible 2 star review, but it was a relief to talk to Ryan, who shares my frustrations and from the company’s mission statement it sounds like they are trying to navigate in uncharted waters as well. The difference in customer service via nebula vs sequencing.com also is unmatched and the standard for WGS is actually 30x so you’re good to go making the trade for genuine customer service at sequencing.com. At the eod You’re more likely to get a doctor to listen having an arsenal of information. I did recently get 1 test confirmed off of it so I hope that this opens doors and EYES of my medical team. If you have an issue click the button that you want to talk to a human before you write your review. He did explain what happened with communication as well so I just want anyone reading this review to know you can get a person relatively quickly. Erroneous errors like this happen and I left a star off because I was overlooked and I am frustrated about the marketing, but overall I think this company is going to go far and should focus on outreach and putting their name out. Sponsor a really sick person and publicize it. Turn it into a for profit bc charities are a lot of over head, or non profit because WGS is life changing. No two bodies are exactly the same and EVERYTHING is in our DNA so that’s my unsolicited opinion. Teaming up, sponsoring a few people who are undiagnosed or really sick and get your name out there. Rebranding and a different business plan are all this company needs. I am hopeful after my conversation that they will pioneer an even more affordable and high quality Whole Genome Sequencing soon. 3/10/25 Original Review: I paid for the most expensive wgs and it was advertised with a year of free genetic counseling. I reached out with no response so I bought the $200 app with 3 free months and have yet to get in touch with anyone. I also accidentally bought a report or two duplicate because they didn’t show up in my reports or I looked in the wrong spot. When I wrote about the issue I was told no refund so it’s hard to see this as helpful at this point. It has a ton of information but no tips in talking to your doctor about it and it’s nearly impossible to bypass the egos of physicians. There needs to be clear instructions. I’m extremely disappointed. I thought it would open up doors for my health but it’s just another scam at the end of the day.
