Ordered a custom corset that was conveniently listed as “in stock.” Waited three weeks, only to be informed two days before Christmas that my order was canceled because—surprise—it was actually out of stock the entire time.
Apparently, this company’s definition of “in stock” means we’ll take your money, hold it for weeks, and then cancel when it’s too late for you to do anything about it. Fantastic business model.
This was one of the only gifts my daughter asked for Christmas, and instead of a product, I got a last-minute cancellation email and zero solutions. If you enjoy unreliable inventory, poor communication, and holiday stress, this is the company for you.
For everyone else: do not order from here—especially if you need something by a certain date or if it’s a custom item. Save yourself the disappointment and shop literally anywhere else.

Took 550 euro and gave me nothing! Stay away.
The company essentially took 550 euro from me and gave me nothing. They shipped with DHL who only emailed me twice about shipping taxes "estimate" then apparently returned the parcel after 7 days of holding it and then destroyed it (according to the merchant but there is no record of this anywhere, it seems very suspicious). DHL never told me what the actual tax cost was, how long they were going to keep the parcel for and when they were going to return it. NOTHING.
Selkie felt zero responsibility for it and offered no solutions, they just said "yeah sorry we can't refund you and that's it". Their customer service representative lacked compassion and basic intelligence. Not even offering to ship again or a partial refund is ridiculous. Absolutely shocking behaviour. One of the dresses was supposed to be a gift.
Thankfully my bank stepped it and ordered them to issue a refund because it was obvious how unfair it was. Terrible company.

They are not responding to any email
They are not responding to any email, text, chat... horrible customer service. Do not purchase anything from them. I have not been able to even begin a conversation with them about a customer service need.

False Information and No Shipping
I placed Order #185055 on November 25 because the website clearly stated a 1–3 day (up to 7 days) processing time for ready-to-ship items.
Today is day 7, and my order is still not processed or shipped.
Customer support now claims the processing time is actually 2–3 weeks plus an additional 10–14 business days due to holidays. This information was not shown at checkout and completely contradicts what the website advertises.
I paid a high amount and relied on the stated timeline. If the real processing time had been shown, I would not have placed the order.
I am requesting one of two resolutions:
Ship my order this week, with a confirmed and guaranteed shipping date,
OR
Issue a full refund due to misleading processing information.
I am not receiving clear answers, only delays and conflicting explanations. This is unacceptable.
Order #185055.

Do not order you 'wedding' dress from this company
As a long time dreamer of having one of their wedding dresses, I can safely say I will never EVER use this company again. The wedding dress I ordered was a joke. Firstly, it looked used. Buttons missing, creased and the tags looked like they had been re used and re applied. In addition to this the quality of the dress was absolutely shocking. £700 for thin & cheap material. Insult to injury I also had to loose £250 on import tax. They admitted fault when they saw the state of the photos I sent them and refunded the dress but point blank refused to cover the import tax. I've ended up having to take a voucher for a company I never want to use again. A really special moment was ruined by someone's lack of stock checking.
Don't believe the online hype.

never again. big regrets.
I purchased a Selkie dress which came with bright green stains on the white lace hem. On communicating this, I was only offered an exchange. The sizing was completely inaccurate (I bought a larger size because I wanted it to be loose on me) and the dress is painfully uncomfortable. Very itchy, pokey seams, super tight elastic and unflattering fit. Furthermore, this incredibly expensive dress came in a dusty, clear plastic bag with a crumpled up invoice. I have ordered less pricey things and have had them come in super elegant packaging, this just drove home that I was scammed. It reminded me of ordering trash from Dolls Kill (which I stopped doing a long time ago)
Nothing about this dress feels special. The fabric feels cheap and stiff and the lace doesn't seem like it will hold up at all. I am so disappointed and accept the fact they just have extremely good marketing tactics. This feels like fast fashion garbage. I opted not to exchange my dress, as it was for my very near birthday and I did not have a backup and am travelling outback Australia. I was offered 10% off another purchase in lieu of any other solution. Extremely disappointed and even though their designs seem like a dream, I will never purchase again. I couldn't even wear it all night, the elastic left horrible marks on me that swelled up and became extremely itchy. Wtf.

Buyer beware! Incorrect size chart and unforgiving return process
Buyer beware. The sizing for some of the items, particularly the corsets are objectively wrong. Some garments run 1-2 sizes small and the return process is wildly unforgiving. They will charge you $20 for the initial shipment, then a $15 fee to return. They overcharge for shipping both ways, with the label being marked for an item up to 7 lbs while the garment is only 1lb.
I purchased a corset that, according to the size chart, would fit. When it arrived it was comically small. I contacted support, sent pictures, took measurements, and provided a screenshot of the sizing chart to show the discrepancy. Summer from the support team forwarded the request and the company doubled down, insisting that the sizing was correct, despite numerous other customers on Reddit, Facebook, and other social media channels verifying that many items do not match the size chart. Not only that, but some garments are _multiple_ sizes off. For example, someone who wears a small said they had to purchase an item in a large. That goes beyond the forgivable "this item runs small". It was TWO sizes off. This is inexcusable for a company that charges this much for the clothing, the shipping and the returns, and for a company that claims to provide accurate measurements on their size chart.
It seems as though I dodged a bullet with Selkie as the quality of the corset was disappointing, and I had no way of knowing that before ordering. The material is papery thin, and the stitching was off. The brand is very influencer-heavy and I now understand it is to cover up poor design, quality, and business operations. I gave Selkie's customer service department the chance to settle this before writing a negative review. I can say with certainty that this company will not be getting anymore of my money and I encourage anyone reading this to think twice before placing an order.

Preorder nightmare … Don’t do it!
I spent a lot of money on my dream gown: The Silk Organdy Amadeus Shipwreck Gown. But I had plans for it. And was so excited when after months of waiting (ordered back on March 9) it was shipping. I received a small bag in the mail and thought, this can’t be right. Opened it up and the invoice for my $1200 + tax gown was there with a cheap cotton mini dress that doesn’t even resemble the original design.
WTF. 🤬.
So I texted them and said I expect them to call me Monday about this. Turns out they KNEW. They changed it. And thought it was acceptable to send a $340 mini dress without telling me and that I would just take it. No email, no contact. 6 Months and they couldn't let me know????
Right now I’m so mad that I’d like to set fire to my other dresses and put it online. What kind of company does this???????

Their response only AFTER I messaged them:
Hello Laura! Thanks for reaching out! I actually planned to send you an email today. After discussing with our team, I regret to inform you that the production team has made a significant change: the gown has been transformed into a mini dress, and the option to add the Dairy Floral Shipwrecked Tournure is available.
Our production team should have communicated this change to you prior to shipping, and I understand how frustrating this situation is.
We sincerely apologize for this oversight and any disappointment it may have caused.
If you prefer to return the dress, we are more than happy to refund you 100%. However, if you choose to keep it, the price is $340, and we can refund you the difference.
