First, I bought 2 dresses worth of 500 USD. One came torn, neither fit (not even close, poorly made). I was told I was able to get a return label for both dresses and then got no responses for a month. A month later, I'm told only one will be refunded. I sent the dress back and never got my refund. This company is extremely sketchy. Dresses are absolutely cheaply made (amazon-china quality) and they cover the scam by an excess of fabric. I lost so much money with them. Quality is horrendous and consumer service sketchy. Avoid them at all cost.

I bought a $350 jacket. It was stunning and I was obsessed. In the 5 days that I had it, the jacket broke - specifically 2 rhinestones broke off. I contacted Selkie for help. Selkie offered a partial refund so I could get the rhinestones replaced locally. I agreed before Selkie told me how much they’d refund me (a huge mistake): $40 to get 2 new rhinestones and pay for time/labor which will require taking the whole jacket apart. I went to all the local tailors and they were unable to help without replacement rhinestones and tools from Selkie. After reaching back out to Selkie, they told me that nothing else could be done (no help finding a tailor, no replacement rhinestones, no replacement jacket). Therefore, I am unable to repair the jacket. It is unfortunate that Selkie cannot guarantee the quality that their price demands. I will not be buying from them again.

Seller cancelled a corset I bought as part of the Buccaneer set (I bought the dress too and have received it). Because the corset was a (now cancelled) preorder, they have managed to charge me customs on an item I have not received and will not receive. I have the receipts, but explaining the customs situation to a probable customer service bot is, to quote the great Jackson Lamb, like trying to explain Norway to a dog. Also pretty annoyed that I bought a dress that was modelled with cancelled corset and only works on me with the cancelled corset. They have given no explanation for why they cancelled the corset. Buyer beware! Update: it is Feb 16th and I’ve still not seen a customs refund for the item Selkie could not be bothered to manufacture.

Purchased a dress in late November, and it just wasn’t right for me (fabric/fit off). Immediately contacted selkie because their online portal mistakenly said I couldn’t return. They were initially responsive but then did not respond to any of my emails regarding a refund for an entire month. I ended up just sending the dress back to their warehouse and spending extra because I had no clue what to do. When someone did finally respond after weeks, I wasn’t offered any explanation and it was a drawn out affair despite their having received everything weeks before. I wouldn’t shop there again, and it was a terrible experience.

Accidentally placed an order, immediately emailed the customer service with the request to cancel it. Next morning I texted the contact number provided with the mark "text only, no calls". No one replied. A rep emailed me that since the order is unfulfilled it has to be transferred to a different team. The day after I get the order shipment notification and not a single word from customer service.

I ordered a dress back in September from Selkie that was listed as in stock, not a preorder or backorder. Their confirmation email states that in-stock items ship within 1–3 business days. I never received the item, never received tracking, and received no meaningful response when I attempted to contact customer service. After months of waiting, I did not receive the dress and was issued only a small partial refund, nowhere near the amount I actually paid. I had to escalate the situation through my payment provider to get any resolution at all. After experiencing this myself and then reading the many recent reviews describing the same issues—items marked in stock that never ship, refunds delayed or incomplete, and unresponsive customer service... it’s clear this is not an isolated problem. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. Buyers should proceed with extreme caution.

My sister and I both ordered from Selkie in October 2025, returned items in November. Selkie lied repeatedly about "processing refunds" while keeping our items and money for 2+ months. What happened: Returned items delivered to Selkie November 10, 2025 (tracking confirmed) November 24: Selkie claimed refund "successfully processed" - LIE December 17: Told my sister again refund was "successfully processed" via text - ANOTHER LIE No refunds ever issued by Selkie Had to file federal CFPB complaints to get money back PayPal paid us, NOT Selkie - they faced zero consequences The scam: Lie about processing refunds repeatedly Only text support (no phone) so they can ignore you Hidden $40+ fees not disclosed until after return Violate their own 5-10 day refund policy Keep item AND payment hoping you give up Cheap products from China marked up 500%. We paid nearly $300 combined, fought for 2 months to get it back. Evidence: Order #181918 and #181912, PayPal cases PP-R-VDX-603672116 and PP-R-YHI-605677170, CFPB complaints, text/email proof of lies. DO NOT BUY FROM SELKIE. Their F rating is earned. You'll get scammed.
