Bought a set of Executive knives with the resin handles in January 2026. The knives have always been properly used, and cleaned/dried by hand. My wife was cutting cheese and vegetables with the petty knife when the handle snapped where the blade meets the handle. I emailed Seido and included photos of the knives assuming they would back it up under warranty. In response Seido claimed the knife was mishandled and wouldn’t be covered under warranty. I’m the type of person who would own up to damaging a product and paying to replace it. But in this case I feel Seido makes an inferior product and obviously doesn’t backup what they manufacture (assuming it’s not mass manufactured by another company). I suggest researching other knife brands if looking for a quality knife set.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about the issue with your petty knife and understand your disappointment. We’d like to clarify that our Limited Lifetime Guarantee covers manufacturing defects, but it does not cover damage resulting from use, wear and tear, or accidental damage. In this case, after reviewing the photos you provided, our team determined that the damage appeared consistent with damage occurring during use rather than a manufacturing defect. For that reason, the claim was not eligible for warranty coverage. We understand that you take proper care of your knives, and we appreciate you providing the photos so our team could investigate the issue. Our warranty is intended to cover genuine manufacturing defects while also recognizing that knives are tools that can sustain damage depending on how they are used. We’re sorry we couldn’t provide the resolution you were hoping for and appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. —The Seido Knives Team
