A Frustrating Wait, But Absolutely Worth It in the End
I’ll start by saying this was definitely a journey 😂 I placed my order in late August, and by 14 September I was already on day 17 with the order still being described as “in the final stage” of processing. This was after I had previously received communication suggesting that processing was already complete, so naturally the contradicting updates became pretty frustrating (later found that they send automatic preplanned emails regarding what stage the ring is at which were very midleading.). The ring was intended for an important occasion, so when you’re getting close to three weeks after ordering and still don’t have a confirmed dispatch date, it becomes stressful very quickly. I had paid for express shipping as well (they were due September 5-7th!) so I definitely expected the overall process to move faster than it did. To Satéur’s credit, they continued responding to my emails throughout the situation, apologised for the delays and offered $100 goodwill store credit (which i instead asked that they just send a pair of the Trone Earrings with my original order because I was extremely sceptical to order using my own money again). I appreciated that they didn’t simply stop communicating, even though I do think their order status communication could be sooo much clearer. At one point I was specifically told to disregard the automated emails because they didn’t accurately reflect the real status of my order, which obviously isn’t ideal when you’re relying on those updates to know what is happening. By the time everything finally arrived towards the end of September, roughly four weeks after I had originally ordered, I had already gone through quite a bit of frustration with the process. Then I opened the packages... I have to give credit where it’s due because the jewellery itself is absolutely beautiful. The ring genuinely exceeded my expectations. The shine, weight, feel, finish and presentation are stunning in person. Pictures really don’t capture how good it looks when the light actually hits it. The earrings were beautiful too, and everything came presented really nicely in Satéur’s packaging. So after almost a month of waiting, multiple emails and quite a lot of uncertainty, the actual product completely changed the ending of the experience for me. I do think Satéur seriously needs to improve its processing updates, especially when customers are ordering jewellery for proposals, anniversaries or other time-sensitive occasions. If an order is going to take several weeks, customers should be given realistic expectations from the beginning rather than receiving automated updates that conflict with what customer service later says. However, I also don’t think it would be fair for me to ignore how impressed I am with what eventually arrived. The jewellery itself is genuinely gorgeous, the presentation was excellent, and after everything, I’m very happy with the pieces I received. Nearly four weeks of frustration, but thankfully a very good ending.
