Very poor business ethics and misleading deals
A year ago, I bought a downloadable PDF from SamCart which did cost me $19. Little did I know that by doing so I signed up for an automatically yearly renewable membership subscription. Last month I got charged with $220 for a membership renewal - totally by surprise. I did not know I was a SamCart member nor did I received an email notification or anything telling me about a subscription renewal being due or that I would be charged $220 soon. Within a few hours after receiving the PayPal notification, I contacted SamCart’s support team explaining the mistake but without luck. Refund was denied. Given this experience, I would say SamCart is having terrible business ethics and highly misleading deal agreements. PayPal rejected the dispute telling me that I was in a binding billing agreement. The membership is of zero value to me but regardless my money was taken without warning. ——— As an answer to the SamCart response: The support team didn’t seem to be sorry about charging me $220 when I contacted them RIGHT after being charged, telling them this was an error. They offered me a $30 discount if I dropped the dispute I made with PayPal. Then I contacted the team again and haven’t received a reply until the very day! So no, the support team is not helpful at all!!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. Your satisfaction is very important to us, and we take all feedback seriously. Typically our CreatorU subscriptions rebill one year from the original purchase date for the standard list price instead of the discounted initial price you paid, as documented in your receipt. Could you please contact us directly at [email protected] with the subject line ‘TrustPilot - Assistance?’ This will help us prioritize your support request! We would appreciate the opportunity to review your account further and help make things right. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope to have the chance to serve you better in the future.
