Beyond “significant” delays in payment. Did a study in April and have still not been paid in August. Try calling the hotline, you say? It is a recording telling you of “high call volume” and to email them. Try emailing and there are no responses. They will likely have a lawsuit soon.

I Unreasonable payout policies coupled with months of internal delays
I completed a research study for Sago in good faith, providing my time, attention, and data. When it comes to honoring compensation, however, their double standard is astounding.
To put their timeline into perspective: Sago's internal fulfillment is exceptionally slow. For a previous study, I claimed my reward on January 7, and despite inquiring on March 7, it took them until April 3 to actually issue the funds, nearly a three month turnaround. Because of these lengthy internal delays, I saved my subsequent reward email in a folder to use later, unaware of a rigid 90 day expiration window attached to the link itself. When I attempted to use it, I discovered it had expired right at their cutoff.
When I reached out for a basic administrative override to reissue compensation for labor I already performed, I was met with a flat denial and boilerplate excuses. Sago expects participants to adhere to unforgiving, automated expiration windows, yet takes months to process payments on their end and go past their own time frame of issuing payments. Refusing to reissue funds for completed work is poor business practice. Be cautious investing your time here if you expect reliable, hassle-free compensation.

Zero Payment or Help Responses
I participated in a deodorant product study for this company. Was promised compensation for the study as well as a bonus compensation for completing a video interview. I did everything as requested, including bug reporting their faulty online diary system repeatedly and even going so far as to email my entries to ensure things were properly documented when their website was improperly managed... After the study's conclusion the researchers went completely "dark" and refused any sort of questions when asked about compensation or assurance things had been filed and processed correctly. Lack of communication ruined my entire experience and will likely never use them again, as it's been 2 months since the end of study and have heard nothing and recieved zero form of payment for my time and effort.

ZERO STARS
ZERO STARS! ONE STAR IS ONE TOO MANY!
This company scams people. They may seem legitimate but they're not. I received an email on 5/29/26 to participate in a shampoo and conditioner fragrance study. I would get sent the bottles to try for 2 weeks and take a survey about my experience doing so. In exchange for my opinions, they would pay out $30. Sounds simple and easy enough. The survey came right on time. They sent me the survey twice. I did it, TWICE. I didn't know if it was an error on their end. I figured if it was, at least they had my response and couldn't claim I didn't take the survey. After 2 weeks after completing the survey, I contacted them via email. Waited a week, no response. Contacted them again via email and finally a response. They let me know that another company that I hadn't even signed up for, was the one responsible for my payment. I waited another 2 weeks and finally demanded payment via email, to which they responded that they'd be checking on this for me. So, here I am, after waiting for over a month with no resolution. I did inform them that I'd be filing complaints and also writing reviews at BBB and also FTC, amongst others.

Worst research company, slowest payers AVOID
Worst research company, out of all of them they take the longest to pay, can never contact them as often it's paid late, I don't understand why they take years to pay compared to other market research companies and they pay via gift card which doesn't even make sense to wait 6-7 weeks for a gift card, for example
GiveOpinions pay gift cards within a week of a study, so I don't understand why they take years. I actively avoid study's and research opportunities where sago are responsible for the Incentives

Good luck getting your money 😡
Anyone who has been here for awhile remembers Sheslinger, and how smoothly it ran. Since the takeover it's nearly impossible to get paid what you're owed. The "contact us" link is worthless. No reply after almost a week past what should be payday. Zero response. I'm tired of the bs. I do good work and deserve my money. Guess we'll see what the BBB has to say about it. Again.

Poor customer service and don't pay up without asking constantly.
I have participated in several focus groups over the years. They went from being a good group to work with, but over the last two years, it's been hard to get them to pay out what they owe people for their time. The last 6 months have been me having to ask several times to "process" what is owed. I feel like a debt collector. They don't even do it automatically. I have had to ask constantly. It suggests they are in financial trouble and can't pay for a lot of things. They also don't answer emails regularly or promptly. It's really too bad.

Do not pay. Warning don't use them!
Warning, dont do a market research with this company they dont pay and just palm you off. I completed a market research in May 2026 and they failed to pay me. I will never give up my time for this company again and will be taking legal action against them
