Unprofessional, Late, and Predatory
Avoid this company at all costs. Our experience was riddled with unprofessional conduct and blatant disregard for the contract we signed. Despite agreeing in writing to accept check payments, they refused to take a check on moving day—showing up two hours late at 7:00 PM when banks were closed—leaving us to find thousands in cash on the spot. After significant back and forth they agreed to take a check but only if they could hold our items hostage for 2 weeks as collateral. The movers arrived outside of the agreed pickup window and then added $2000 in last-minute charges for items that were already listed and measured in the original inventory. They also failed to disassemble furniture as required in the contract, then charged us extra for the resulting volume. Communication was a mess. We were passed between three different people—one who only texts, another who only calls, and a third who seemed unsure of their own role. To make matters worse, they attempted to reschedule our delivery outside the delivery window outlined in the contract. They blame the fees on “bad software” despite being provided a list of all inventoried items with measurements more than a week in advance. We did have extra medium boxes. Appx 15 of them totaling 42 additional cubic feet (cuft) so an additional charge of $250 ($5.75/cuft) was expected. But on loading they found 317 additional cuft. Now If the load was actually 700 cuft then that’s just what the cost of it is. But the estimate being over 300 cuft low after being provided specific measurements of all items in advance is unacceptable at best and predatory at worst. Much like the other negative reviews we also dealt with an unhelpful dispatcher. This company is misleading and unethical. I would never use them again and strongly discourage others from doing business with them.
Response from Safe Medical TransportJun 27, 2025
Ryan, I’m sorry to hear you’re not satisfied with your recent move on June 26, 2025. I’d like to clarify a few important points for anyone reading this. First, our contract clearly states that final payments must be made using certified funds only — such as a cashier’s check, postal money order, Zelle, Cash App, Apple Cash, or cash. Personal checks are not accepted for final balances, and this is stated multiple times in the agreement you and Morgan signed. Regarding timing, every customer is asked to be available for both dates listed in the contract because, despite careful planning, delays can happen — traffic, weather, or prior moves running over can all affect exact times. In your case, the crew arrived a few hours later than planned, but still on the scheduled pick-up day agreed to well in advance. While we understand it was inconvenient, it wasn’t intentional, nor was it done to create an issue with your payment method. You also acknowledged having 15 extra large boxes that were not included in your original inventory. Each large box averages 5–7 cubic feet, which adds up quickly — and that alone increased your volume by over 70–100 cubic feet. In addition to the boxes, you added more items before pick-up that were not on your original list, including: One headboard One box fan One large mirror One stool One standing fan One coffee table One computer monitor One floor lamp Two high-top chairs Three planters One roll cart One shoe rack One plant stand One TV Another large mirror One desk chair These added items naturally increased the total space required on the truck, which affects the final cost. Our software uses standard sizing for each item, but when the actual items loaded differ from what was provided, the price has to be adjusted. Regarding disassembly, our team disassembles furniture when necessary and safe. Smaller pieces like end tables or small coffee tables often don’t require disassembly because it provides minimal space savings and increases the risk of losing hardware or damaging pieces. About communication: you mention speaking with three different people — that’s because you were supported by multiple departments working together: sales, dispatch, and your moving foreman. When you reached out, everyone did their part to respond by call, text, or email — which is how we make sure you’re taken care of at every stage. As for delivery, your pick-up was just completed less than 24 hours ago. Your contract clearly explains the delivery window: the Department of Transportation allows 14–21 days from your first available delivery date, and we gave you a window of 10–14 days, which hasn’t changed. Lastly, Roxy is our dispatcher, so yes, you spoke with her — she was available by phone, text, and email throughout your move to keep things moving smoothly. We always base estimates on the information provided. When the inventory changes, the price naturally changes too. This isn’t misleading or unethical — it’s simply how household moves work to ensure you pay for the actual space used. We appreciate your business and want your delivery to go as smoothly as possible from here.
