I had had an unexpected experience with my awning. We were camping at a reunion and had 8 beautiful days of wind and rain free weather. I had my awning extended the whole period. I also had my idler arm end down 2 notches. I had a ratchet strap connected to both ends of the awning, tied to stakes drove into the ground. Overnight, a unexpected rain shower event started. Knowingly I had the idler arm end lowered, I thought through years of camping and awning experience, I had the situation covered. After several minutes, the arm broke. I did not visual if there was a water pocket that developed. A crash sound indicated I had a problem. I contacted Tayler Hennessy and had an immediate response that Carefree was going to help me. After a few emails and a credit card transaction, our awning will be good as new. A quick delivery to my residence happened as promised.
