Update: Run-chicken has since reached out and approved our return. I think if you are happy with the anti-pinch function, this door would serve you great, as it does for many people and their flocks! The door seems to be built very well and operate very well. The doors construction is great and I really wanted to support a USA made product/company so I splurged on this over the cheap Amazon stuff. We have major concerns over the potential of the door pinching a chickens neck and was excited about the anti-pinch feature. The anti-pinch mode pushes too hard before retracting and even worse, the second time it tries to close after triggering anti-pinch, it just holds pressure when it triggers again without retracting(this was out biggest concern as we had a chicken pass away recently by a similar operation). This appeared to be the intended operation of the anti-pinch mode. Disappointed in this, in fear of harming a chicken, we attempted to return the product within days of receiving but was told we could not because we don't have the original packaging to return it in. This experience has been very disappointing as I truly wanted to support the company.

They walked me through a technical glitch /instructions with a professional approach

After 3 years of use, the controller/switch board of my T50 door quit working. I tested the motor and it still worked, but the unit would not work and the button on the controller did nothing. I emailed Run-Chicken and got a reply the following day, telling me the product only had a one year warranty, but if I would send them a copy of my receipt they would give me a 30% discount on a new drive unit for the door. The drive unit is the most expensive part of the system -- on their website a new door is $130, and the quoted price of a new drive unit is $109, but with the 30% discount it was only $79, and shipping was free. Despite the failure after 3 years, this is a very good product, and the customer service was excellent.

I was thrown off by the update to the app, as I believe most people were according to the reviews; however, customer service was great and got my problem resolved promptly!

We have a number of run chicken products. The customer service is really some of the best I’ve experienced. A real person responds quickly and the concern is resolved. I’ve recommended run chicken not only because of the products but also because their customer service is so good.

I have the giant door and I think its a great door. My only complaint is that the door has vented holes in it so that means during the winter it lets a draft flow through and doesn't keep the coop as warm as it could with a solid door. Now its great for the summer but terrible for the winter.

I lost a screw while changing the batteries in my automatic door. I sent a picture of one of the other screws to customer support and they helped me find a replacement. I was hoping to buy from Run Chicken but they didn't offer replacement parts.

Great door! Fantastic quality! I will buy another larger door! I would like to be able to open and close door without app.
