I'm currently having a bad experience…
I'm currently having a bad experience with Rover. In 2023 I got ill twice due to disabilities and that led me to having to cancel 2 dog sittings. Then my phone broke on a 3rd sitting and I missed a sitting. I explained this to them as something beyond my control. However, Rover arbitrarily decides who to grant the Star Sitting label and who not to, and in my case, they tyrannically chose to cling onto something that happened beyond my control 2 years ago and never remove it from my record and never grant me my rightful Star Sitter label, as a good sitter I have always been worth 5.0 reviews from my customers. When asked when this expires, they respond like a little parrot or machine with robotic answers that make no sense and pretty much indicate that whatever happened 2000 years ago they will hold it against you, while making profit out if you, of course. They also lack any formal complaint process, which is illegal, so pretty much they can do whatever they like, they will deflect and deny and no one will hold them accountable while making profit at the expense of pet sitters. In their own world they think humans must be perfect and never have extenuating circumstances ( which I hope that will also apply to them and their own family members) and they choose to bar people forever, just like that which is direct discrimination, for banal reasons. I'm very dissatisfied and disappointed and I'll be moving to the competitor app, which also doesn't charge commission like Rover does. Very cheeky of them and their reasoning makes zero sense. So please save it.
