My baby was taken care of while I had surgery. I don’t know if he was really thrilled cause he didn’t seem like himself for a minute when he came back home, but I know that the previous sitter that we had he absolutely love being there and when he came back, he went to go back to them and go play so I don’t know what happened with this experience but my baby is a very picky little person and this was an emergency and original sitters. Couldn’t pick it up for me.

The communication with Rover was excellent, but of course the key was who our puppy was able to stay with. Gina was excellent. Her mother was also there and communicated and sent pictures making us feel very comfortable and secure as it was our first time leaving her we will definitely & Hopefully be able to use her again as we come to South Carolina often to see our grandchildren often

I have always had a great experience with Rover until very recently. The Rover app itself and service is great, but what I’m questioning now is the “verification process” which allows people to become sitters. The sitter I used kept many dogs, which I’m OK with multiples, but there were several drop offs/pickups during our pick up time. My dogs came home smelling like urine, my older girl was constipated, and whined on the way home. She’s never done that before. When the pups got home, they drank so much water! I didn’t get any pics or communication from the sitters, but truthfully, I never asked because Rover sitters had always been great. It’s also occurred to me that I never saw where they were kept, but again, I didn’t ask. These sitters had a review of 4.8 from nearly 200 reviews. I can’t see how that happened, but since this experience, I’ve read every review. Several have the same issues I did. Makes me wonder how legit the Rover reviews really are. I have definitely lost a little trust in Rover sitters and I will definitely be more diligent in the future before choosing a sitter.

I have used Rover for years and have had great care for our pup.

Rover does not allow sitters to see jobs. I was told by support that this is because they are protecting their pet owners. So, in other words their pet sitters are not as important to them since they allow all pet owners to see any pet sitter profile they want. That's a great way to show appreciation for pet sitters who provide such a valuable service- hide the pet owners but display every detail about sitters. I waited for months before I actually got contacted by someone to do a sitting job through Rover. Then Rover took a bunch of fees - they charge sitters 20%. I was told by Rover support that these fees covered multiple things including MARKETING. Sitters should not have to pay for Rover's marketing. On top of that, Rover makes sitters wait TWO DAYS past the end of the job to get paid. I have never heard of this practice. I have worked through several sites & never encountered anything like this. The best site I have worked through is House Sitters America. They only charge a $50 annual membership fee- that's it. Sitters & pet owners work out everything else, including payment. Plus, if you use the code 3MJNN8 you can get a discount off of your membership fee. I will NEVER work through Rover again- ROVER SUCKS! I wish I could give a ZERO star rating because they don't even deserve 1 star.

Hi there, thank you for sharing this feedback. We understand your frustration and appreciate you taking the time to explain your concerns. Sitters are charged a 20% service fee, which helps support things like 24/7 customer support, trust and safety coverage, secure payment processing, platform maintenance, and promotion that helps connect sitters with pet owners. Payouts are released after a short processing period following the end of a booking to help ensure services were completed as scheduled. We know this model may not be the right fit for everyone, and we’re sorry your experience didn’t meet your expectations. If you’d like to talk through your account or have questions about fees or payouts, Rover Support is available 24/7 at (888) 453-7889. -Brittney

Rover App is fantastic! A little heavy on the fees. 150.00 turned into 235.00 very quickly. ! . I'd rather just use a sitter off the site. Not worth an extra 75.pp
