Rover makes it easy to find a great pet sitter with reviews. I was able to make a reservation and use Rover for pet sitting. It was a great experience!

I am writing this review after losing my Rover account despite years of flawless 5-star reviews and being a Star Sitter. During a boarding stay, a high-anxiety dog—whose prescribed medication was not provided for the visit—briefly exited through my back door while I was carrying items outside. The dog immediately ran to my front door to get back inside. He was never lost, which is why no lost-dog report was ever filed. More than a week after the stay ended, the pet parent contacted Rover requesting a full refund and later messaged me expressing dissatisfaction with the stay. I waived all cancellation and modification fees (including multiple last-minute reservation changes) and refunded half of the visit, even though the concern was raised well after the booking had ended and the dogs were well cared for and loved throughout their stay. Following that contact, Rover permanently closed my account. There was no appeal process, no meaningful review of my years on the platform, and no consideration of my spotless history. What makes this especially troubling is that I was told that sitters can remain on the platform even after lost-dog incidents, as long as Rover is notified. Yet in my case—where the dog was never lost, and never left my property—my account was terminated with no opportunity to dispute or explain. This speaks volumes about Rover’s inconsistency and lack of support for long-standing, trusted sitters. Rover appears willing to retain sitters after actual lost-dog incidents, while permanently removing a proven, attentive sitter over a single incident where no harm occurred. Pet parents looking for a sitter who will love their dog like their own should carefully consider whether Rover is the right platform. I would encourage them to explore other options. Sitters should also understand how little protection they have—one complaint can end your account, regardless of your history or the actual facts.

I had a great experience during my first time using the services of Rover. Contacted Emi G. She made both me and my fur baby comfortable immediately at the first meeting. When I returned, it was apparent that “Ziggy” was well taken care of. I almost think Ziggy would have followed Emi G home 🫤. Will definitely contact Rover and Emi G for future pet sitting plans.

I found this to be very useful in finding the perfect sitter for my dog. Rover has a good reputation, pleased with how well organized and user-friendly this is. I found Aaron S to be an amazing person with whom I boarded my three dogs.

We like Rover. It was easy to find a sitter for drop in visits and we like the gal that we chose. We met our sitter during a scheduled meet & greet and shared about our pet and the sitter asked about expectations. We showed where the leash is kept and food and let the sitter take the leash and let our pet lead the way. The sitter has 3 young children and our dog loves kids and encouraged for the children to visit during the drop in. An email was received once the service began and a summary of the walks and how many times our dog peed and pooped along with many pictures showing her “doing her business” & sharing kisses with her sitter. Our dog is quite chill upon returning home. I highly recommend Rover for any pet services you may need!!

Steph’s team gives great and prompt service. We engage them because we have the confidence in her that the pet-sitting will be done as promised. This has been over several years.

The pet sitter was very helpful in walking us walk through the process and clarifying specific questions that were not clear. We received multiple emails and videos of our precious cat during a very long stay from 12/21/25 to 1/9/26. The sitter was able to bond with our Smokey in less than 7 days, which was amazing because this was his first time being boarded, and he does not socialize with anyone other than us and has never been around other animals outside of Vet appointments.
